Like on this same team. Rick Rizzs. And whereas no ballplayer is going to care about this site, I bet Dave Sims might come on here, see a bad comment and get sad and quit to sell hats. Maybe not.
But this is probably where the whole group think reputation comes from. Like we kind of drive away people who mildly disagree with people who love by jumping all over them for unpopular opinions.
Irrational hatred for a player or broadcaster? Not a big deal, let it go.
Belligerant, insulting, ignorant poster who never cared to read the rules of the site or what it’s about before they started jumping all over people themselves for “not really understanding the game” or whatever? Probably not going to end up a productive commenter.
You may think they are, but in point of fact this is passive aggressive sniping. It’s really annoying and reminds me of my mother and now I have said too much.
You know what the most awesome thing is about that outfit?
It’s not even the shorts. It’s the MASSIVE collar. It’s like they were saying “hey, we are sort of dressed like the 1880s but with 1970s FLAIR OH YEAH”.
You’re lucky you don’t have to watch a 3 hour lecture on how stealing is wrong before it starts.
And it’s the same bullshit that means that you can’t watch a Mariners game on Saturday afternoon, because Fox is the only one allowed to broadcast games at that time…and they want to show the Yankees play instead.
I think we’re hitting the delayed reaction to a crappy team, plus a crappy economy. Plus people not caring about Griffey after last season wasn’t the last. A good pennant chase could change it, but if things doing go well this season ticket sales are will probably take a dive.
Two-hitter!

Jeff Sullivan - April 19, 2010
Not that I don't do this myrelf all the time
But this is probably where the whole group think reputation comes from. Like we kind of drive away people who mildly disagree with people who love by jumping all over them for unpopular opinions.
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
It really ought to change
Maybe I should set a better example.
Jeff Sullivan - April 19, 2010
That's not to say we shouldn't jump on the complete retards, though
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
Seems like a fine line there
Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010
It's pretty easy to tell the difference
Irrational hatred for a player or broadcaster? Not a big deal, let it go.
Belligerant, insulting, ignorant poster who never cared to read the rules of the site or what it’s about before they started jumping all over people themselves for “not really understanding the game” or whatever? Probably not going to end up a productive commenter.
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
Unless you're pointing out there's a no-hitter every other comment
Then it’s good
Corco - April 19, 2010
Butt out
Jeff Sullivan - April 19, 2010
Rizzs isn't on TV though.
So it’s good for watching the game and hell on road trips
Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010
Thanks for that
ErictheHawksFan - April 19, 2010
We get mad when people make fun of Milton Bradley.
What’s the difference? Sure Bradley’s a player, but Sims “interacts” with us more often.

Jeff Sullivan - April 19, 2010
The comment I responded suggested that Dave Sims should die.
Eyeball Kid - April 19, 2010
I was being ironic. Suddenly there's a comment good-taste police? Really? On this thread?
ErictheHawksFan - April 19, 2010
I was just responding in kind. If your comment had been tamer, mine would've been as well.
Eyeball Kid - April 19, 2010

I like the community that we've built but we could really stand to be like 10% more hospitable
Jeff Sullivan - April 19, 2010
I think some of it has to do with how the game thread has been going in general.
The worse it is, the nastier everyone’s mood gets and piling on happens faster.
Matthew - April 19, 2010
And it's too active to moderate!
Avalanche!

Mod Fogel

I am terrified to ask what the third hole is.
JY - April 19, 2010
I guess it's a matter of perspective.
Or preference.
yuniform - April 19, 2010
Wait, did Sims just mention Red by his real name?
Goose - April 19, 2010
They're talking about Red, and saying he's a traitor!
Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010
What Orioles jersey is he wearing?
Trenchtown - April 19, 2010
Jones
Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010
Acceptable
Trenchtown - April 19, 2010
I forgot to say this already.
FUCK ERIC BYRNES
Johnny Slick - April 19, 2010
You're a fool's fool
Dewey N - April 19, 2010
Eric Byrnes popping out to Rick Rizzs is like the ultimate sucky play.
Maybe Rob Johnson drops the ball or something, I don’t know how that works out.
Johnny Slick - April 19, 2010
Needs more Bloomquist.
yuniform - April 19, 2010
Do you hate awesome people?
lailaihei - April 19, 2010
If Eric Byrnes is awesome, I don't want to be awesome anymore.
Johnny Slick - April 19, 2010
When is the "Red Booblehead" coming out?
ErictheRed - April 19, 2010
The booblehead?
That sounds more like an entertaining night on the town than a piece of jiggly plastic.
WAAAAAAAAAAAaait, you can get both of those at once if you get the right girl.
thehemogoblin - April 19, 2010
Shit is Guti hurt?
Ender15 - April 19, 2010
Eric Bynes, a bundle of energy.
Eyebrows - April 19, 2010
Bundle of energy into a walk!
lailaihei - April 19, 2010
...
ErictheRed - April 19, 2010
GUTI HURT
FUCK FUCK FUCK
IceStormV1 - April 19, 2010
There is always next year I suppose.
kschimke - April 19, 2010
And now I'm terrified
Bearskin Rugburn - April 19, 2010
What the hell was that shot of Guti wincing while running?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Bearskin Rugburn - April 19, 2010
STEAL STEAL STEAL
Dewey N - April 19, 2010
So cool Red shoutout and a story.
wazzu93 - April 19, 2010
Why is Red wearing an Orioles jersey?
ignacio - April 19, 2010
Adam Jones
killer_ewok18 - April 19, 2010
"Former Beltre fan."
Goose - April 19, 2010
I thought Red shaved his beard off recently?
qrsouther - April 19, 2010
He is so manly, he added that back on in a week.
Johnny Slick - April 19, 2010
They should score all walks to Byrnes
A “prance” because thats exactly what he does.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
Jose Lopez HR... you saw the prediction first here.
Ian Smell - April 19, 2010
Just kidding. He'll ground out.
Ian Smell - April 19, 2010
Good call.
Twice.
ScottBrowne - April 19, 2010
You lose.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
Or pop out.
Ian Smell - April 19, 2010
Pop-up is more traditional.
ignacio - April 19, 2010
No one cares about your prediction.
Zwakamatsu - April 19, 2010
In my head Eric Byrnes is my fun from the Dave and Busters commercials.
Robert - April 19, 2010
You suck at hitting Lopez.
Ender15 - April 19, 2010
Jose Lopez is so boring
Dewey N - April 19, 2010
Ok here's a hypothetical guys and gals.
What if MLB players were given the option that they could wear shorts as a uniform? What would you think?
M'sFanatic - April 19, 2010
No opinion
Wouldn’t care
Dewey N - April 19, 2010
Horrible idea.
Horrible.
ScottBrowne - April 19, 2010
Horrible idea.
Horrible.
ScottBrowne - April 19, 2010
God I hope not.
harkening - April 19, 2010
Only if they're the 70/80's basketball shorts.
I mean…umm…
Sidi - April 19, 2010
I hope not. It would remind me of A League of Their Own
Sliding would be terrible.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
That'd go over well.
Eyebrows - April 19, 2010
You know what the most awesome thing is about that outfit?
It’s not even the shorts. It’s the MASSIVE collar. It’s like they were saying “hey, we are sort of dressed like the 1880s but with 1970s FLAIR OH YEAH”.
Johnny Slick - April 19, 2010
Please put those kneecaps away.
This isn’t softball…
thehemogoblin - April 19, 2010
People remember the ChiSox doing that in the 70's.
Ain’t ever happening again.
drblacknwhite - April 19, 2010
There's a reason they wear pants
But if the shorts they wore were the ones Ichiro wore in spring training, I’m in favor of it
Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010
Potential scraped knees while sliding.
Seems unnecessary.
JY - April 19, 2010
Put your knees away if your going to be walking around here
Always Sunny quote for those unfamiliar
edddgar - April 19, 2010
Wouldn't they get carpet burns all over their legs? Seems silly.
wazzu93 - April 19, 2010

Allen Wu - April 19, 2010

I was all set to sleep. How will that happen now?
Snuffleupagus - April 19, 2010

Smegmalicious - April 19, 2010

Why am I dunking on James Franco?
Robert - April 19, 2010
I like how you carry the rim with you.
kschimke - April 19, 2010
Robert sure is tan
JLC - April 19, 2010
He finally got that negroplasty
Big Jared - April 19, 2010
Not sure if anyone has pointed it out but Guti has been grimacing while running
since he hit that triple a few days back
Rudy4three - April 19, 2010
OH MY GOD IS GUTI INJURED?
Goose - April 19, 2010
No no no no no no NOOOOOOO
Guti injury is the single worst thing that can happen to the Mariners.
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010
Felix injury would be worse
Griffin Cooper - April 19, 2010
The entire team blowing up would be pretty bad
ermac - April 19, 2010
But more Ackley!
JLC - April 19, 2010
Naw because then we could see the AAA team all the time.
Brad Nelson in left field!
Kirk - April 19, 2010
Probably just a tweak if he's still out there
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
How do you feel about a possible Gutierrez injury?
I haven’t been able to get your read on the situation yet
Matthew - April 19, 2010
Or Felix.
This is NOT good.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
Now I can't study for my finals tomorrow
Please God don’t do this to us faithful Mariner fans!
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010
I think a team place crash would be pretty bad too
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
Plane crash, what the fuck is wrong with me.
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
I guess that would probably be Guti's fault
JLC - April 19, 2010
If Safeco Field ran into something, it sure would be tragic.
thehemogoblin - April 19, 2010
Injurichiro? Felinjury? Figginjury?
There are worse things than a Gutinjury. Not many, but they exist.
thehemogoblin - April 19, 2010
Actually the only one that is worse is the Felinjury. The others are severe but not as severe as Gutinjury
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010
Agreed.
Just look at WAR and replacements.
yuniform - April 19, 2010
Um.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010

E-Lizz - April 19, 2010

Dewey N - April 19, 2010
What the fuck Ty stop hitting dingers
Alto - April 19, 2010
Why, would you rather know the horrible, horrible truth?
Trenchtown - April 19, 2010
He gave us like 5 runs with his error.
lailaihei - April 19, 2010
2nd pitch is a HR, nice job Kelley.
So glad we have a BIG lead.
Heydude - April 19, 2010
I don't feel Kelley is that good of a pitcher.
Ender15 - April 19, 2010
He's pretty good.
Eyeball Kid - April 19, 2010
He's pretty good.
But I don’t find anything great about him.
Ender15 - April 19, 2010
Better than White, Texeira, Colome, and perhaps others
Griffin Cooper - April 19, 2010
This is fact.
Kanekoa isnt too bad though.
Ender15 - April 19, 2010
If he was sufficiently stretched out in spring training then he's definitely the best of our long guys.
Eyeball Kid - April 19, 2010
He's better than Sean White.
thehemogoblin - April 19, 2010
He's one of our few RH relievers who can get LH hitters out.
Benne - April 19, 2010
That's because you're wrong
seattlebruin - April 19, 2010
Alright maybe Wigginton isn't done
OlSalty - April 19, 2010

TrustBaseball - April 19, 2010

E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
Don't get excited yet folks. Wait for the report on Guti. It's much more important than this game
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010

MsForever - April 19, 2010
BWAHAHAHA!
“You hear that behind me?”
Silence
“That’s the sound of victory!”
Goose - April 19, 2010
Why oh why must MLB.TV cut this stuff out?
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
That wasn't silence...
That’s the sound of a an art college graduate who lives on a friend’s couch playing the buckets.
Sidi - April 19, 2010
What do we know about Guti's injury?
Slow Country - April 19, 2010
He was laughing after the game
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010
Oh wait that was Felix
Allen Wu - April 19, 2010

Ian Smell - April 19, 2010
The latter.

BrianL - April 19, 2010
How can you get blacked out 3000 miles away?
wazzu93 - April 19, 2010
They're in bed with the cable companies...
Sidi - April 19, 2010
I haven't had a blackout since I took four quaaludes and forgot I fucked Chantal Lutenberg
Trenchtown - April 19, 2010
Think about the Felix Bobblehead to gain composure.
ErictheRed - April 19, 2010
Yuni broke up Morrows no hitter
Words can not explain how happy this made me.
Robert - April 19, 2010
Best part?
It was a weak ground ball that scooted into shallow left field. In a turf stadium. Where Jack Wilson doesn’t play short.
harkening - April 19, 2010
He hit it hard
Griffin Cooper - April 19, 2010
Not really, no.
harkening - April 19, 2010
They just showed the replay on FSN
It was basically a low line drive
Griffin Cooper - April 19, 2010

See
Griffin Cooper - April 19, 2010
Did he do it in a poorly executed way with t rex arms?
OlSalty - April 19, 2010
14,000 people in attendance tonight? Jeeze.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
I can believe it...
Center field seats were absolutely empty.
I think we’re hitting the delayed reaction to a crappy team, plus a crappy economy. Plus people not caring about Griffey after last season wasn’t the last. A good pennant chase could change it, but if things doing go well this season ticket sales are will probably take a dive.
Sidi - April 19, 2010
Seems so bi polar. One night there will be well over 30,000.. next night, nothing.
E-Lizz - April 19, 2010
Not that strange.
Apr 12 – 45,876 (Opening Day)
Apr 13 – 18,043
Apr 14 – 15,978
Apr 16 – 39,999 (Bobblehead Night, Friday)
Apr 17 – 31,647 (Military Coins, Saturday)
Apr 18 – 30,419 (Felix Hernandez Jerseys, Sunday)
