The team we had out there this weekend is actually kind of average, with Tui, Byrnes, Sweeney, Griffey, Moore, and Johnson not being much better than replacement players. Combine that with the fact our bullpen had a bad weekend (even though are starters weren’t bad), they’re just going have trouble winning in that park with this team. We could have won at least one of those game, too.
Someone couldn’t choose a worse series to judge the M’s.
We really didn’t deserve to win any of the three games with the lineups that were out there. Also, we’re 9-10 with magnificent starting pitching so far and during an easy stretch of our schedule.
We’re seriously no going to do shit this season until the front office wakes the fuck up and realizes their major league bench is anything but major league.
Several of our posters are also from thereabouts, so adding a u to things like color or honor, or using a s instead of a z in things like utilize or organize, or putting the r before the e in things like somber or theater, are perfectly acceptable.
I like it on the Bill Murray factor, but it’s one of those movies where it runs a bit long without enough funny, even though the funny is fantastic when they get to it.
I was trying to find Bill Murray movies for a friend.
He hadn’t seen Ghostbusters in about ten years, so we had to do that, and it still holds up I have to say. Stripes, not so much, but there are great moments in it, like the recruitment office and the on-field demonstration, it just largely falls flat in the second half.
I’ve been trying to think of others to watch. He’s not so much into the Wes Anderson thing though, which I can understand, and Lost in Translation, while good, is not especially funny. Broken Flowers was another possibility, but again, it’s not outright funny.
I think that was the intermediary between Ghostbusters and Stripes, but those are great suggestions. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Caddyshack in its entirety myself, so it always slips my mind.
Replace Hannahan with Tui and keep one of Griffey/Sweeney to sit on the bench and look cool and replace one of our pitchers with a real left fielder and I agree
Eric Byrnes scares the broadcasters as well.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
Boo-yrnes! I was saying Boo-yrnes!
SeaKoala - April 25, 2010
I'm afraid whenever the ball is hit to Byrnes. The man makes routine catches look scary.
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
Any ball hit to Eric Byrnes scares the shit out of me
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
Byrnes
is oblivious to the term “routine fly ball”
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Eric Byrnes terrifies me.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
Mr. Shiny ERA actually got the job done.
I’m actually surprised.

Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Any fly ball in US Cellular is scary
Byrnes makes it heart stopping
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
I want to see Kotchmans Dump face.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
He even has an 'I have the ball face'
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
Let the record show that Andruw Jones lined out
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Gordon Beckham?
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
They all look alike
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Indeed.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
Wilson and Bradley are missed dearly
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
I feel bad for Shawn Kelley
Mariner John - April 25, 2010

Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010

Aaron Campeau - April 25, 2010
So the gamethreads have been improving?
Slow Country - April 25, 2010
Tui just hit a bomb.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Huh?
Decatur - April 25, 2010
Hmm
In my head I phrased it like I was telling him to do it.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Tui, just hit a bomb?
Aaron Campeau - April 25, 2010
This would be the correct.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
That's probably why he struck out.
You need to be more clear when you’re telepathically using the imperative.
Sorry Scruffy, but this one falls on you.
Decatur - April 25, 2010
Gah!
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I suck.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Is the Cliff Lee game on TV?

Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Boo-why does it tell me the audio for Tacoma is unavailable? >:(
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
This is the last day these ichishoes will be worn.
jmp8 - April 25, 2010
I was hoping that Danks would manage to complete the spider he was throwing at Moore.
Oh well, nine pitch at-bat.
JY - April 25, 2010
It seems like Ichiro has gotten like 1 hit all season.
Ian Smell - April 25, 2010 via mobile
He's hitting .293.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
Now .303!
forte40 - April 25, 2010
This comment flummoxes me.
Decatur - April 25, 2010
Guti being on fire
is made moot while Figgins and Ichiro look like shit
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
How has Ichiro looked like shit?
Mariner John - April 25, 2010
Maybe it's a comment on his physical appearance
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Impossible.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
I get how that describes Figgins but not Ichiro in that case.
Mariner John - April 25, 2010
He's hitting .293.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
That's his slump, but I agree, he in no way looks like shit. Ever.
Allen Wu - April 25, 2010
It's relative
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
.293 this early in the season is literally a few lucky bounces away from Ichiro's career averages.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
Stealing time
JBell523 - April 25, 2010
Yes, force Danks OUT
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Do something Figgins.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Something positive.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Chone needs to pretend he's on the Angels
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010

Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010

seattlebruin - April 25, 2010

Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Positive!
Get out of the game Danks!
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Yay
Now hit another home run Guti.
Mariner John - April 25, 2010

Slow Country - April 25, 2010
That sounds sexual.
SeaKoala - April 25, 2010
Wait. So who is the gatekeeper and who is the keymaster again?
ErictheRed - April 25, 2010
Sigourney Weaver and that guy from Little Giants.
Slow Country - April 25, 2010
Rick Moranis.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
Him.

joof - April 25, 2010
Make him pay Guti!
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Make Jeff dance!
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I can't believe not one person in the future has time-traveled back to the present and blown us up
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Why would they when the future is a balanced, sustainable utopia
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
We must be in the first parallel universe.
Wilder. - April 25, 2010
Right call for Ozzie here: definitely bring in the reliever, right?
Decatur - April 25, 2010
Oh noes 0-2!

Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010

Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
Oh well... still have one more inning before they go into walk-off mode?
Allen Wu - April 25, 2010
No...Just, no.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Did we actually deserve to win those first two games?
Maybe yesterday, but we almost Angel-ed the Friday game.
Maury Povich - April 25, 2010
Shouldn't you be asking if he is the father?
Wilder. - April 25, 2010
KKliff!
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
23 pitches awesome.
Wish we knew how fast he was throwing.
the other side - April 25, 2010
I don't want to jinx it, but...
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
So, anyways, I hope Mike Sweeney hops off a building at some point today.
Ian Smell - April 25, 2010 via mobile
This seems extreme
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Seriously a pulled back muscle will do.
the other side - April 25, 2010
I mean we're talking about a dead Mike Sweeney here
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
It's just baseball!
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Eric Byrnes seems more likely to do this.
And survive.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
I would argue Snell.
What with his history and dead relatives and all.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Lopez...
the other side - April 25, 2010
Sees dead people?
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
S. White

Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
I'd rather he wait till he's pitching
Griffin Cooper - April 25, 2010
That'll be tough since B. League is pitching.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
Couldn't figure out which spelling to use?
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
DAMN YOU ERIC BYRNES.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010

Stop being so freakin’ hittable!
MISS A BAT
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Hey man, Sean isn't pitching
Griffin Cooper - April 25, 2010
Um Leage?
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
League.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Sorry
I had my screen minimized and though Wak was going to stick with his buddy
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Wow Sean gets blamed for everything.
the other side - April 25, 2010
It's always an adventure when Brynes gets a fly ball.
Heydude - April 25, 2010
"Byrnes saunters under it."
Jeff Nye - April 25, 2010
Shit.
Slow Country - April 25, 2010
Eric Byrnes is quickly becoming my favorite Mariner
Corco - April 25, 2010
I think Byrnes may have been a Satyr in a past life.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I can see it.
But you need to make a .gif or something of it.
JY - April 25, 2010
Preferably this one.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Good ol' Greeks...
JY - April 25, 2010

E-Lizz - April 25, 2010

kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
Royals next!
the other side - April 25, 2010
We're going to get destroyed by Yuni and WFB.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
Jose Guillen will single-handedly kick our bullpen's ass.
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
For FUCKS sake.
Swept by the fucking White Sox.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
At least it isn't the 9th.
Goose - April 25, 2010
Not a walkoff!
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
GOD
sanford_and_son - April 25, 2010
Well, at least it's only the 8th
JBell523 - April 25, 2010
PUT IT ON THE BOARD!!!!
WAIT- FUCK
Corco - April 25, 2010
Fuck you baseball
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
I am very tired of him.
Big Jared - April 25, 2010
Sigh.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
THROW YOUR GOD DAMN SPLITTER!
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I don't think he heard you.
But seriously, he should throw his splitter.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
This is unbelievable
Fett42 - April 25, 2010
Well there we go...
Slow Country - April 25, 2010
This is gonna be a really annoying sweep
Alto - April 25, 2010
Fuck this gay ass little league park. What the fuck.
sanford_and_son - April 25, 2010
I'm tired of being of all my teams being absolute
SHIT on the road
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Fuck the Sounders roadtrip.
I am assuming this is what you’re referring to.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Wooo no walk off!
Griffin Cooper - April 25, 2010
It's the little things, right!!!!!!
the other side - April 25, 2010
Fastballs! Fastballs...seriously.
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
God I hate this park.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
That was an amazing play
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
Holy shit
Goose - April 25, 2010
That was the single most entertaining 3-1 putout I've ever seen.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
KOTCHMAN!
FACES!
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Casey Kotchman, the best defensive 1B in M's history
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
Olerud?
JY - April 25, 2010
John Olerud sucked
Corco - April 25, 2010
Just checking to see if the meme is still alive.
JY - April 25, 2010
Very much!
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
I never saw him but I have a hard time believing he could be better than this.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
He was pretty darned swell.
msb - April 25, 2010
Olerud was pretty good.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
Plus he rocked a helmet in the field.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Very good, but Kotchman is a freaking wizard over there
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
I don't disagree.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I think Olerud was better.
And he was local, just like my produce.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
It's a fair argument and they are 1-2 either way
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
Olerud couldn't charge and throw on a bunt like Kotchman
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
No, certainly not.
JY - April 25, 2010
How oftern is this a factor in a season? 5 times?
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
You do it once though.
And it takes away the idea you can bunt someone over to third. Sorta like the Ichiro Terrance Long throw.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I will buy this argument... for now.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
He's done it once already this season.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
This is true... and I agree with you.
I just don’t think it makes that big of a difference in the grand scheme of things. But then again nothing does.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Won three Gold Gloves with us.
For whatever that’s worth. He was pretty good. Big guy, ranged well to get to balls.
JY - April 25, 2010
And by ranged...
I mean more he was rather good at having one foot on the bag and managing to stretch his way to wherever the throw was coming in.
I don’t remember him being especially mobile otherwise.
JY - April 25, 2010
The mobility is where Kotch edges him I think
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
I could agree to those terms.
Either way, ecstatic that Kotch is working out so well for us.
JY - April 25, 2010
Gold Gloves....
Heh.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Isn;t there some stat about the error rate in the Toronto, Met & Seattle infields increasing after his respective departures?
msb - April 25, 2010
I believe so.
JY - April 25, 2010
That's what I've debated in my head, but I think Kotch is it
lemonverbena - April 25, 2010
Kotchman is better defensively than Olerud
Nostalgia is always great though, right?
Nah just kiddin
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Kotch is the bee's knee's
Andrew E - April 25, 2010
Awesome throw-from-your-arse face.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
League fucked up that bag
Fett42 - April 25, 2010
The pitch to Konerko was a fastball on the inside corner
Just a lucky home run.
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
All of our best relief pitchers have blown ties or leads.
Ouch!
russak - April 25, 2010
KotchRocket
Is our only hope
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Don't worry guys. We got some great power hitters coming up!
Oh wait.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
Loafie, Sweendog, and Kotchrocket??
We could do worse.
JY - April 25, 2010
Excluding Kotchman.
I’m not counting on another Loafie homer.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
Does Shawn Kelley still exist?
Corco - April 25, 2010
I'm beginning to suspect not.
JY - April 25, 2010
Good thing we have a 7-man bullpen
Corco - April 25, 2010
I hope they put Milton in for Tickle-Me-Elmo
Jb206 - April 25, 2010
It really feels like we should have won twice in this series, not gotten swept
seattlebruin - April 25, 2010
Getting swept with a -3 run differential is pretty unlucky.
But it’s bound to happen a few times with this bad offense/good defense combination.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
We didn't even face Buerhle or Peavy. This is sickening.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Peavy's bad now.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
I don't see how it's that sickening.
We are built to our ballpark, the exact opposite of US Cellular.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
Looks like another day of rooting against division rivals.
svart aske - April 25, 2010
So far only the Angels are cooperating.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
And not anymore.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
We're not going to pinch-hit for Sweeney are we?
BrianL - April 25, 2010
If we do, it'll be Griffey.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
Why the hell not, one annoying old DH for the other.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Bradley would be a welcome pinch hit
The problem is we would have to pinch run Wilson for him
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
It should be Milton.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Time for us to come back on their closer...
YEEEEEEEEEAH!
JaredB - April 25, 2010
I was really hoping they would put that Putz fellow on the mound.
ErictheRed - April 25, 2010
4-5-6 batters coming up!
Oh wait, that’s not a good thing.
Ian Smell - April 25, 2010 via mobile
This.
Scruffy Lefty - April 25, 2010
I've never heard the term ducksnort before today
Fett42 - April 25, 2010

F’ing belief system…
tait644 - April 25, 2010
swing, swing, swing, swing, swing, swing, swing, swing, swing,
Wilder. - April 25, 2010
That's legitimately true.
Nine swings in a row for Sweeney today.
BrettJMiller - April 25, 2010
Are they even trying to win this game?
msb - April 25, 2010
He doesn't swing
He hacks with style ;)
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Good lord this weekend has been all kinds of stupid
Fett42 - April 25, 2010
Atleast the Seahawks had a good draft
Jb206 - April 25, 2010
I generally feel that this sort of thing gets decided way too early
Fett42 - April 25, 2010
There is that.
the other side - April 25, 2010
KOTCH
ROCKET
Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
Fuck you Sweeney.
Fuck you Wakamatsu for leaving him in.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
So it's up to you, Kotch.
drblacknwhite - April 25, 2010
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeney and a miss!
Jeremariner - April 25, 2010
KOTCH

Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
DAG FUCKING GRAVY
Corco - April 25, 2010
Just stop Sweeney.
Like the whole baseball thing.
Just stop.
the other side - April 25, 2010
I'm sure glad Sweeney's still on the roster
Alto - April 25, 2010
Time to Old Yeller the Sweendog...
Maury Povich - April 25, 2010
At least Casey can do something.
the other side - April 25, 2010

Mario Shawn Hayden Jr - April 25, 2010
I am having a real hard time Believing Big after this series.

We lost by a grand total of 3 runs.
It was a shitty series but I think people are blowing it out of proportion.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
Our roster construction is as bad as Lidle was flying a plane.
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010

kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010

Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
We did, but hopefully everyone else is seeing it now.
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010

zeeehjee - April 25, 2010

Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Good for him.
Not going to save this sorry offense with 2 elderly men in it.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
What the fuck is wrong with Wakamatsu?
Why not use Milton. So fucking shitty. It’s like he DOESN’T want the team to have a fucking chance.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Milton is injured
Corco - April 25, 2010
ie he is incapable of playing baseball
Corco - April 25, 2010
Oh bullshit.
He can walk up to the plate and swing a fucking. I don’t care if he even ran to 1B after hitting the ball.
It most likely would of been better than what Griffey can do.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Should be a "bat" in there. Haha.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
And a sensible opinion.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
I have no doubt he could swing a "fucking".
Sounds like a milton thing.
the other side - April 25, 2010
You don't know that.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
Think of the long term implications. We want Milton healthy.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
I want Griffey benched and Milton to be the DH.
That would keep him healthier.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
We all want that
But Milton has to heal first
Corco - April 25, 2010
And by "benched" you mean "put out to stud," right?
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
And Sweeney needs to go
I don’t have the hatred for Sweeney other peeps here do, but really, seriously, he hardly gets any at-bats and is basically irrelevant at this point.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
I could live with Sweeney being on the roster if the rest of the bench wasn't so bad.
JY - April 25, 2010
I think he'd be fine if he got more at-bats
But there’s no way he’s replacing Griffey as the every day DH. So what’s the point? There isn’t one. Hugs ain’t enough for me.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
This is irrelevant, but his batting style makes me want to shoot myself.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Let's risk further injuries
That’d be fun.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Think of it this way:
Griffey K’s, we lose the ballgame.
Milton gets a hit, we tie the ballgame. Milton gets injured running the bases. We lose Milton.
I’d rather lose the ballgame than Milton.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
It's in the 40s in Chicago and raining and Milton Bradley has a messed up calf.
Decatur - April 25, 2010
We should have someone better to use there, but we don't.
refuse2lose2010 - April 25, 2010
There wasn't anyone else he could have pinch hit for.
I wish Moore could have stayed in though.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
It's a long season. Do we have to start saying this again?
That is the worst stadium of the M’s. They’re banged up, and we have some on the way. They could have easily won that series.
refuse2lose2010 - April 25, 2010
But the White Sox are not a good team.
JY - April 25, 2010
They are a good team actually.
Just have gotten off to a shitty start.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
No, they're not a good team
cwel87 - April 25, 2010
They're not bad.
Fuckmikereilly - April 25, 2010
They're barely worse than us
Jeff Sullivan - April 25, 2010
What does that make us?
JY - April 25, 2010
I think we're a good team.
And got off to a shitty start.
E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
I want to believe that.
But Oh My God we are 2-8 on the road.
JY - April 25, 2010
SELL SELL SELL!
kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
That, or...
We recruit Robert to blow up most of the stadiums in the AL, thus allowing us to play more games at home this season.
JY - April 25, 2010
He know's their weekness's.
Am I right? Also, spelling is my strong point.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
So are apostrophes.
JY - April 25, 2010
Please help me!
I consider “spelling” to be anything connected with language and syntax.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
That's more of a grammar thing.
JY - April 25, 2010
You say tomato...
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010

LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010

DrunkAmerican - April 25, 2010
There we go! Now I know!
Was that a crow? Get Griffey out of the Show!
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
We say potato
DrunkAmerican - April 25, 2010
Get rid of Sweeney
And put a machine that gives out hugs in the clubhouse.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
They're not bad, they can play over.500.
Someone couldn’t choose a worse series to judge the M’s.
refuse2lose2010 - April 25, 2010
Right
If Wak knew how to make up a lineup and he and Jack knew how to construct a roster.
Comiskey (yes, I know it’s not Comiskey) didn’t beat us. Wak and Zduriencik did. Plus a shitty effort by the bullpen.
tait644 - April 25, 2010
Another Kliff K!!!!
Shit this still sucks.
the other side - April 25, 2010
This roster is fucked
We really didn’t deserve to win any of the three games with the lineups that were out there. Also, we’re 9-10 with magnificent starting pitching so far and during an easy stretch of our schedule.
We’re seriously no going to do shit this season until the front office wakes the fuck up and realizes their major league bench is anything but major league.
cwel87 - April 25, 2010
Below replacement level players on roster: 4 (Griffey, Sweeney, Tui, Byrnes - Adam Moore gets a pass)
Above replacement level players in Tacoma: 2: Langerhans, Hannahan,
This shouldn’t be hard.
Decatur - April 25, 2010
The most frustrating part of it is that it's not hard at all
cwel87 - April 25, 2010
I doubt Byrnes and Tui are actually below replacement level
seattlebruin - April 26, 2010
Just punch him Brad Adam.

Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
I wonder if we can trade Cliff Lee for Jay Bruce or something
Corco - April 25, 2010

Griffey and Sweeney are self-centered pricks.
Fuck everything.

kentroyals5 - April 25, 2010
I feel like there should be a "z" in there.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Well done.
Unless that was an unintentional GM thing.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Somebody saw what I did there! Or did the Prof do it?
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010

LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010

Really? .com motherfucker, not .uk or some bullshit.
AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010

the other side - April 25, 2010

Hence all the wierd posting. But you knew that.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
One of the mods is from the UK
Several of our posters are also from thereabouts, so adding a u to things like color or honor, or using a s instead of a z in things like utilize or organize, or putting the r before the e in things like somber or theater, are perfectly acceptable.
JY - April 25, 2010
Yeah, I was trying to make a joke concerning our GM, but everyone is testy after the sweep.
I’ve been lurking long enough to know this, but there’s no way for you to know that. The internet is wierd.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
*Weird.
You’re okay, but I recommend working into drunk posting. It’s not something to do right away.
JY - April 25, 2010
Thanks.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
Oh well.
the other side - April 25, 2010
Half the line-up is batting under .200.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Yeah we have a terrible organization
Griffin Cooper - April 25, 2010
Overreacting much?
BrianL - April 25, 2010

You’re right! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrllCZw8jiM
zeeehjee - April 25, 2010
I saw it a few months back.
I like it on the Bill Murray factor, but it’s one of those movies where it runs a bit long without enough funny, even though the funny is fantastic when they get to it.
Like the Aunt Jemima treatment
JY - April 25, 2010
I haven't seen it in years.
zeeehjee - April 25, 2010
I was trying to find Bill Murray movies for a friend.
He hadn’t seen Ghostbusters in about ten years, so we had to do that, and it still holds up I have to say. Stripes, not so much, but there are great moments in it, like the recruitment office and the on-field demonstration, it just largely falls flat in the second half.
I’ve been trying to think of others to watch. He’s not so much into the Wes Anderson thing though, which I can understand, and Lost in Translation, while good, is not especially funny. Broken Flowers was another possibility, but again, it’s not outright funny.
JY - April 25, 2010
What about Bob and Groundhog Day
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
Caddyshack
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
We did Groundhog Day!
I think that was the intermediary between Ghostbusters and Stripes, but those are great suggestions. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Caddyshack in its entirety myself, so it always slips my mind.
JY - April 25, 2010
Scrooged.
msb - April 25, 2010
Seasonal, but okay.
I still can’t get used to the idea that the irate office drone is Bobcat Goldthwaite. It surprises me every time.
JY - April 25, 2010
"The Night the Reindeer Died"
msb - April 25, 2010
Meatballs -one of my favorites
Corny 70’s summer camp movie, but I had a crush on Chris Makepeace-aka Rudy the Rabbit
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
Quick Change
Bank heist movie where he dresses up as a clown… includes Geena Davis and Randy Quaid. The awesomeness quotient is pretty high in that one.
Cougriculture - April 25, 2010
You're all in this together! One of these men may save your life one day, ya understand that?
The Typical Idiot Fan - April 25, 2010
Warren :)
msb - April 25, 2010
If Jack Wilson doesn't get hurt..
Do we win this series? We might have been our hottest hitter.
Maury Povich - April 25, 2010
Are any of the 1B/DH's roaming around Tacoma an improvement over Griffey/Sweeney?
yakvalleycardinal - April 25, 2010
I would think they would have to be.
joof - April 25, 2010
Tommy Everidge!
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
Although we wouldn't just be swapping DH's, we'd bring up a player who can give us some flexibility, like Langerhans.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
Or here is a novel idea:
Bradley can DH, Langerhans and Hannahan can come up, and Griffey and Sweeney can go away forever.
I thought of this all by myself.
In 2.1 seconds.
Whilst on the toilet.
Not. That. Hard.
tait644 - April 25, 2010
Replace Hannahan with Tui and keep one of Griffey/Sweeney to sit on the bench and look cool and replace one of our pitchers with a real left fielder and I agree
Corco - April 25, 2010
I know Z has been good at being objective when it comes to the roster,
but does he really have the balls to DFA two clubhouse/fan favorites?
Fin - April 25, 2010
Griffey isn't going anywhere unless he gets hurt or retires.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
Doesn't matter. He needs to do what's right in order for this team to win.
DFA Sweeney’s ass.
russak - April 25, 2010
Ticket sales are #1. Now, do more people NOT come if he fires Griffey, or do more people come if the team is better?
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
First of all, I mentioned getting rid of Sweeney. Secondly, more people will come if we have shown ourselves to be contenders.
russak - April 25, 2010
It was a reply fail.
But you don’t have to be an asshole.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
That doesn't seem like a particularly assholish comment.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
It was in my head. But my heads fucked up right now, so yeah. Commenting over.
But probably not.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 25, 2010
I'm imagining he's gone once Hannahan's healthy enough to come up
yakvalleycardinal - April 25, 2010
Hannahan probably switches places with Tui.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
I really wish that wasn't the case
You’re still stuck with the same bench composition if they do switch
yakvalleycardinal - April 25, 2010
Josh Wilson!
Maury Povich - April 25, 2010
Is bad.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
But can play the field!
Maury Povich - April 25, 2010
Hannahan is a significantly better option if that's the criteria.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
You are not the father
russak - April 25, 2010
You were wrong!
She’s a man!
yakvalleycardinal - April 25, 2010
Whoopsie, Lee
Forgot to cover first, finally allowed a baserunner.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
In what inning?
zeeehjee - April 25, 2010
First batter of the fourth
Bunt single
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Whoopsie again
Carrera lost a popup in the sun.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Lee got out of the fourth
DP then a popup.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
God dammit FSN I haven't seen the Sounders match yet and you're airing it next. Don't tell me what happened.
BrianL - April 25, 2010
I'm just gonna watch Lee pitch to make myself feel better

E-Lizz - April 25, 2010
Or listen
Here
Scroll down to Tacoma.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
I can only listen to the Bees feed.
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
Thank you cool stuff.
the other side - April 25, 2010
I can't get the Rainiers feed-- it tells me it isn't available.
I can get the Bees feed, though.
msb - April 25, 2010
Weird, I've got Tacoma's but I'm on the other side of the state
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
I'm Spokane and can't get it.
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
This has happened to me before
made more frustrating because the local Catholic radio station has wiped out my (tenuous) ability to get 850 on the radio anymore.
msb - April 25, 2010
Nobody likes it when their designated drivers get hammered by pitcher after pitcher...
leaving them out in the rain with nobody to drive them home….
Jeremariner - April 25, 2010
Put Sweeney on the DL, call up Langerhans, send Tui down, call up Hannahan, put Milton at DH and move Griffey to the bench.
Oh and DFA Colome when Lee comes back.
MFAN - April 25, 2010
Ryan Langerhans looks like a frowning Will Forte in his Tacoma pic.
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
Lee has thrown 45 pitches through 4 innings
At this rate he’ll get through at least 7, even with the pitch count.
Avery Bowron - April 25, 2010
58 after that inning
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Granted it's the minors an all, but this is really encouraging.
the other side - April 25, 2010
*and
the other side - April 25, 2010
Wow did you guys see that Chris Jakubauskas got NAILED by a line drive in the head?
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
Yep-front page a couple posts below this one.
wazzu93 - April 25, 2010
There's a front page post and everything.
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
Ah my bad.
Ender15 - April 25, 2010
That was gruesome.
the other side - April 25, 2010
K to end the inning in Tacoma
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
KKKKliff Lee!
Eyeball Kid - April 25, 2010
68 pitches and Lee's done
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
They said 80-85?
Oh well, we still love him.
JY - April 25, 2010
Yea, he got through 6 easily and was just toying with Salt Lake
Probably wasn’t much of a point trotting him back out there.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
The Bees are not a good team.
JY - April 25, 2010
Sure didn't seem like it
At least Lee got some live game experience in. It seems like he’s good for liftoff.
Brian Floyd - April 25, 2010
Tough series
If the Canucks lose I might have to go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.
