… but there’s now a Doug Fister Day as well. He has nothing more than mediocre stuff, yet carries himself as such an intense competitor. No emotion when he toes the rubber. He just goes right after guys. I can imagine him being a royal pain in the ass to the fans of other AL teams a la the Angel version of Chone Figgins.
On April 13th we needed a win very badly and we needed a starter that could go deep into a game
Fister went 8 innings and gave up 3 hits and 0 walks and I immediately told my friend “Fister just stole my heart” and I’m sticking to it.

He's a useful arm to have.
Plus his moments of brilliance are just damn entertaining.

I was there for his first win against the Yankees
So I like to pretend that I have some sort of unique personal stake in his career.
Jeremariner - April 30, 2010
You should do Shawn Kelley next.
JonBBT - April 30, 2010
Polls will be resumed on Monday morning
Jeff Sullivan - April 30, 2010
Oh good heavens look who happens to be next!
Jeff Sullivan - April 30, 2010
I've loved him since he came up.
He’s pitched really well since he came up last year, and I enjoy how he’s been able to overcome mediocre stuff to be an asset.
Also, I’m super annoying, end enjoy going, “Fister?! I ’ardly know ’er!” Because like I said, I’m really annoying.

For me, there's not only Felix Day...

His name pushes it from like to love
Yeah, I’m immature.

I'm in this camp.
TrustBaseball - April 30, 2010
I'm loving that 2-seamer
He will probably crash down to earth, but I love Fister.
ChaseB - April 30, 2010
I love Fister more than any non Felix player on the team.
Kirk - April 30, 2010 via mobile
I love Fister too
It’s irrational, but I love players who improbably succeed with stuff that just shouldn’t work.
njpozner - April 30, 2010
I like Doug Fister, I just refuse to get attatched to him as a player
No matter how good he pitches this season, the kid’s got a very low ceiling. In fact, we may have already seen it.
E2ESQUARE - April 30, 2010
I dislike him because you guys like him and that annoys me
Graham MacAree - April 30, 2010
He's been growing on me.
Ever since the near no-no vs Baltimore a few weeks ago.
