A link to the 2008 version.

The only big contract on this team signed via free agency is Chone Figgins. In 2008, we had Miguel Batista, Jarrod Washburn, Carlos Silva, Raul Ibanez, Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre. All of them are now gone along with Arthur Rhodes, Miguel Cairo and Jamie Burke. Not a single FA signing that was on the 2008 Mariners is on the team two years later.

In 2008, we started the year with five guys who were originally Mariner draftees. Only Mark Lowe remains.

Mysterious slash

D/L?

Know what it stands for

Inquiring as to the slash’s origin.

Personal choice
Sean White is the 5th longest tenured player on our team
5th?

Ichiro!, RRS, Lopez, Felix, Fister, Johnson, Kelley, Lowe, Moore, and Tui have been here longer.

Not on the Mariners they haven't
Sean White made his Mariner debut at the beginning of 2007

RRS was in mid 07, Fister was in 09, Johnson was in late 07, Kelley was in 09, Moore was in 09, and Tui was in 08.

Ichiro, Lopez, Lowe, and Felix have been around longer.

Also it just occured to me that last time Sean White came in to relieve Felix for the first time all season after making an Opening Day roster

Felix got injured for quite some time

Correlation fallacy

Also, Whistling Past the Graveyard

Oh ok I understand now.

My mistake.

Good heavens.

The difference in Trade and Free Agency between 2010 and 2008 is staggering.

Finally.

A post mentioning Miguel Cairo. I was starting to have withdrawals.

I notice a bit of a void between Nov. 7, 2003 and June 16, 2008.

(if you ignore the draft and Sean White)

Hey just because quality value, like Silva and Bautista have moved on to important roles on good teams

doesn’t mean nothing good happened in that period.

I agree

Someone great happened in 2004</a.

I really do feel bad for Royals fans right now. Looks like the light at the end of the tunnel has been temporarily turned off.
