Having a slow afternoon? Starting to lose your opener high? Anxious about Ian Snell? Struggling in your search for topless pictures of Casey Kotchman? The Associated Press has got your remedy.
Cliff Lee had planned to play long toss Friday as part of his recovery from a strained abdominal muscle. He's feeling so good, he will throw a regular bullpen session instead.
...
"It's pretty good," the left-hander said. "I felt absolutely nothing. It's behind me. I've just got to build up."
Fellow rehabilitating starter Erik Bedard experienced no problems following his bullpen session Sunday in San Francisco. The lefty is recovering from August shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum.
...
"Erik Bedard feels great. He's way ahead of schedule," Wakamatsu said. "He threw all of his pitches yesterday and feels good."
I gotta think it's a pretty good day to be us.

Our theoretical ahead of schedule soon to be rotation is fucking baller

That's why you play the games
in DiamondMind.

On Bedard...
They were talking it over with Rick Griffin while Bedard was throwing and asked how many curveballs the could throw. Griffin motioned 3 or 4 curves. John Wetteland piped back, “34?” Jack Z looked terribly encouraged and then Bedard, Jack, Rick, and John all chatted for a while.
When I get back to Seattle, I’ll post a couple pictures.

Dewey N - April 6, 2010
I kinda miss bad us.
Robert - April 6, 2010
Could always adopt the Royals on the side
OlSalty - April 6, 2010
The Rays haven't won a game yet this year
That’s pretty sad.

Awesome, just reserved my hotel room for the World Series!

It makes me think of Morph right before he's killed on the X-Men cartoon show.
katal - April 6, 2010
Morph is actually saved/corrupted by Mr. Sinister but that is shown a couple of seasons later.
aestivalis - April 6, 2010
Well, I guess it's 162-0 for us!
doublemazaa - April 6, 2010
When you're this sexy
Every day is a pretty good day for us.
seattlecougar - April 6, 2010
Why was bedard throwing in SF?
Seems kinda random
speedomike - April 6, 2010 via mobile
There was an exhibition game there on Sunday.
And do we really want our third ace to pitch in Oakland. I like Oakland, it is just not a place for our third ace.
InSpokane - April 6, 2010
Oh
Yeah that would make sense.
speedomike - April 6, 2010 via mobile
He just wandered across the bay all Canadian and surly
lemonverbena - April 6, 2010
I know this is not the place, but I feel a little guilty for wanting to make out with two ex-angels.
And this news makes me feel so so dirty inside for the Mariners this year.
InSpokane - April 6, 2010
So we're undefeated and we have two ace-quality pitchers nearing full health?
tootthekazoo - April 6, 2010
Gosh it would be swell if April was not a complete disaster
OlSalty - April 6, 2010
We're tied for first place in all of baseball!

Just wait until Cliff Lee comes back. Just wait until Erik Bedard comes back...
….
What?
……..
Oh crap.
WE REALLY ARE BECOMING LIKE THE ANGELS!
ThundaPC - April 6, 2010
I am ok with this if it means PLAYOFFS!!
seattlesundevil - April 6, 2010
Beat me to it.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 6, 2010
It might mean playoffs.
And if it does mean playoffs, it means a 3-man rotation of King Felix, Cliff fucking Lee and the Interview with Hyphen ready to go in a pinch.
harkening - April 6, 2010
I'll be ok with winning the West five of the next six years.
And winning the next 6 WS. Fuck the angels.
LonelyintheBleachers - April 6, 2010
No one allow Michael Pineda into a vehicle.

Ha! Just got this.
It took a little time, I’m not going to lie, but I was rewarded in the end.
Attractive Nuisance - April 6, 2010
I have to admit I felt a bit guilty recing that.
the other side - April 6, 2010
I don't wanna rec it, but I have to.

Another piece of good news
Bradley is DHing and Byrnes is in LF.
TrashiDawa - April 6, 2010
Indeed, and Gutz/Kotch platooning the 3 hole
Drayer twit’r

lemonverbena - April 6, 2010
Awesome, we get to see Oakland fans piss on one of their most beloved past players
Yet they cheer for utter shit that fucked their payroll like Chavez.
OceanBird - April 6, 2010
Chavez was a great player who's been destroyed by injuries
He deserves the cheers.
Graham MacAree - April 6, 2010
Chavez had hall of fame talent and it's unfortunate how injuries have derailed his career
Poochie - April 6, 2010
That's one of the few "bad payroll decisions" that's utterly defensible
nathaniel dawson - April 6, 2010
Yeah this is great fucking news...unless you are participating in Griffey! Lent.
Do BP homers count?
Rich Langford - April 6, 2010
Can someone give me the quick recap on what the hell the Griffey challenge is?
I must have missed that thread.
appleshampoo - April 6, 2010
Something Robert put together
http://www.lookoutlanding.com/2010/4/4/1404864/the-2010-griffey-challenge
InSpokane - April 6, 2010
It's one of the reccomended FanPosts
Essentially many of us are giving something up until Griffey hits a homer. Thus, Griffey! Lent
seattlebruin - April 6, 2010
Haha, I should check the FanPosts before I ask dumb questions.
appleshampoo - April 6, 2010
This is pretty sweet news and all...
but I’m left wanting Kotchman topless photos…
cmccrack206 - April 6, 2010
Probably not a good thing to search for topless photos of Casey Kotchman.
Might be too tempting for those giving up jerking it for the Griffey challenge.
Wilder. - April 6, 2010
It's there own fault for giving up jacking it.
InSpokane - April 6, 2010
Drayer also just said that Cliff Lee's balls are dry on the mound, or something
shannondrayer
Cliff Lee just threw a dry session (no ball) from the mound and said everything was good
5 minutes ago via web
lemonverbena - April 6, 2010
Well, yes,
but I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, if you will, so now I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.
cmccrack206 - April 6, 2010
There are just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence.
RunningFool - April 6, 2010
What
I mean, I get it, but what?
Corco - April 6, 2010
Arrested Development.

RunningFool - April 6, 2010
Ah
Corco - April 6, 2010
Am I the only one that was disapointed at the result of the Casey Kotchman link?
coasty141 - April 6, 2010
Yes.
I was a little disappointed, until I saw his profile picture.
Fear - April 6, 2010
Yep.
Pretty much made my day.
the other side - April 6, 2010
If the love is great enough, you can see through the surface.
InSpokane - April 6, 2010
Drayer
Drayer: “Cliff Lee just threw a dry session (no ball) from the mound and said everything was good.”
How exactly do you throw without a ball? Doesn’t the lack of weight in your hand preclude you from getting the true pitching motion?
Willmore - April 6, 2010
Not really, if he's just focusing on mechanics and doesn't want to push it
seattlebruin - April 6, 2010
Maybe he used a towel
Jeff Sullivan - April 6, 2010
Not to be a total and utter buzzkill
But this is Erik Bedard we’re talking about. Let’s remind ourselves who this is and what his history is.
Scrupio - April 7, 2010
Is reminding us that Erik Bedard is an awesome pitcher really a buzzkill?
ThundaPC - April 7, 2010
Good point.
This is very interesting stuff.
