Somebody said that Sean White isn't terrible.
Who the fuck was that guy?
Slow Country - May 18, 2010
His father?
RustyJohn - May 18, 2010
Don Wakamatsu.
He has real numbers, too.
harkening - May 18, 2010
Wait, aren't there numbers above? What numbers is Wak looking at?
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
Real numbers that only MLB folk can see.
BrianL - May 18, 2010
Ah, right. Thanks.
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
Felix :(
Dewey N - May 18, 2010
I hate all life.
JAH - May 18, 2010
Kotchman! Figgins! Kelley!
Numbness :(
wyte_lightning - May 18, 2010
What a painful loss.
Fearless Frog - May 18, 2010
Give it to me if you're not gonna do it!
russak - May 18, 2010
Not enough damn pills.
the other side - May 18, 2010
If Schick Shadel really wants to help me stop drinking they should make the Mariners better at baseball
wetzelcoal - May 18, 2010
Schick Shadel is for profit.
They need the Mariners to suck for their client base to remain.
harkening - May 18, 2010
Maybe they are behind all of this
Its rigged!
Edgar for Pres - May 18, 2010
The good news
is that Baltimore won today! The bad news is Houston lost.
Cantu Easley Winn - May 18, 2010
Shit.
I was waiting for another couple losses to start this…..
the other side - May 18, 2010
Sorry
Cantu Easley Winn - May 18, 2010
It was inevitable. Not your fault.
the other side - May 18, 2010
Lets not fuck this up like we did with Strasburg.
Mariner Melee - May 18, 2010
We're not going to be bad enough to get Rendon
JLC - May 18, 2010
We can't do anything right.
russak - May 18, 2010
Hehehe, you are absolutely correct!
We have bad but we won’t be quite terrible enough.
the other side - May 18, 2010
Are, have what the fuck ever.
Apathy is here.
the other side - May 18, 2010
Why do you have to kill the only hope I have left for this season?
Cantu Easley Winn - May 18, 2010
Oh please, not another season like this.
I can’t handle it if we must start thinking like this before Memorial Day.
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
Ah, the opening bars of the M*A*S*H theme
lemonverbena - May 18, 2010 via mobile
This isn't a war
it’s a murder.
BrianL - May 18, 2010
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice
Pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
Eyebrows - May 19, 2010
Suicide is painless...
appleshampoo - May 19, 2010
The team might actually be worse than the FSN commentary
Coors Light Freeze Cam!
E2ESQUARE - May 18, 2010
Having not seen the end, what did Tui do?
Or am I just dumb?
Mariner John - May 18, 2010
Tui has no business in a MLB uniform.
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
The Tuiasosopo family has no business in sports, period.
Fucking suck at everything they do.
russak - May 18, 2010
I wouldn't go that far as I remember a Tuiasosopo leading the Huskies to something, but
this particular one has no more value than WFB. Yeah, he might be a fan favorite, but keep him off the field.
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
Rose Bowl
Fearless Frog - May 19, 2010
Dove and missed a ball up the middle he couldn't get to.
ThundaPC - May 18, 2010
Groundball towards the SS side of second
Tui got a really late jump, missed the ball, winning run comes in.
BrianL - May 18, 2010
Fantastic.
Mariner John - May 18, 2010
And it was with two outs, so a passable shortstop ends the inning.
BrianL - May 18, 2010
Especially if RJ hadn't let a ball skip by him
advancing the runner to 3rd… Before I started coming here, I kinda liked Rob – in a charming/fan sorta way. Now I have been shown the incredible error of my ways!
NWade - May 18, 2010
Shouldn't Walkamatic have intentionally walked Suzuki to set up the force play at any base?
It’s not as if Suzuki mattered as a runner anyway.
thehemogoblin - May 18, 2010
Exactly, but who knows what's going on with Wak.
They say a manager has very little influence in a game, but there seems to be quite a bit of evidence to the contrary. There are plenty of wrong calls that have lost close games this year. I wish the sabercats would re-check this. Re-check the line-ups, the calls to the bullpen, the running game…
TrustBaseball - May 18, 2010
Do you trust League to not walk in the winning run?
Brian Floyd - May 18, 2010
Why was League even out there to pitch that inning?
Mariner Melee - May 18, 2010
Pen was down to Colome and Aardsma.
BrianL - May 18, 2010
Uhh, did I miss something with Tex?
(I didn’t see anything before the 8th inning)
NWade - May 18, 2010
He allowed a broken bat single, beaned a guy, and promptly got yanked
Jeff Sullivan - May 18, 2010
So guys like Tex and League get a short leash if they start a little slow
but White’s OK to flail. Hrm.
NWade - May 18, 2010
Hey man, it's not his fault he came in with two base runners on!
He did the best he could, that’s what you gotta admire about him. It’s one of those outings where you just have to look at whoever was the one who put those guys on. We have to believe in Sean White, he had a great ERA last year in a lot of tough situations. We can’t go pointing the finger at him now, not in a situation like that. Gotta stick together and just play this slump out.
Cantu Easley Winn - May 19, 2010
Its not about White as much as it is about when White's being used!
It doesn’t take statistics to understand that you want ground balls when there are runners on base. Other pitchers on this roster are better at inducing ground balls and weak contact. Its as simple as that.
NWade - May 19, 2010
Sorry, forgot to close my snark tags
Cantu Easley Winn - May 19, 2010
Nah, I was just blinded by rage. I don't deal with frustration well
that and i’m still new around here – not sure yet who’s who.
NWade - May 19, 2010
Hold the phone. It's an old expression, but I'm old.
It can’t be over before Memorial Day. Even the Mariners of old weren’t out of it by then (OK, some of them were). GMZ can still fix this, but he doesn’t have much time left. We are still in a very weak division. Temperatures in Texas are not yet that high. Griffey, Sweeney, Tui, RJ, and those two goofy pitcher whose name I have forgotten have got to be replaced by whoever is a decent, but versatile replacement player. Dave Cameron, Jeff and Matthew probably know who those good replacement players are. MB and the good Wilson have to come back and we could still win the division. But changes must be made very soon. If they aren’t, we’re gonna suck until the end of the season.
TrustBaseball - May 19, 2010
You asked for it
Jeff Sullivan - May 19, 2010
Okay, so Eric Chavez's diabolical look makes this GIF.
ThundaPC - May 19, 2010
Chavez
is one sick bastard. The natural reaction to that is wincing. At least on reflex, then you realize it’s Rob Johnson and laugh.
wobatus - May 19, 2010
I was in a bar literally jumping with glee
thinking that Bard would come into the game and we’d have a chance. Silly hope! Seeing RJ stay in the game may be remembered as the moment the 2010 Mariners lost me for the remainder of the season.
NWade - May 19, 2010
I hope he ruptures a testicle or two and has to go on the DL for the next 60 days or so.
thehemogoblin - May 19, 2010
Its kind of amazing how the ball just transfers all its momentum and basically has stopped moving after it hits him.
Edgar for Pres - May 19, 2010
I hope that hurt
Aaron Campeau - May 19, 2010
CLUNK
OlSalty - May 19, 2010
Let's see how many angles we can get this nutshot from!
JY - May 19, 2010
Now, in X-MO!
Faux - May 19, 2010
Kenji wouldn't have even gone down.
Would have gotten up, walked around the plate twice and to the batters box, come back and gotten ready for the next pitch.
But Kenji had balls of steel.
Faux - May 19, 2010
Awww, it stops after a few hours.
