Chris Seddon and the second place, 20-21 Rainiers against something Ballard and the I don't know, something-something Oklahoma City whatevers.
Ryan Garko is playing, and he looks like a LOLcat.
Fun facts: Mike Carp is averaging exactly two bases per hit, and Greg Halman is averaging 2.35. The latter also has 11 walks and 35 strikeouts, which is remarkably not terrible, for him.

So, still a chance Greg Halman makes the bigs?
SeaKoala - May 24, 2010
I would think it hinges upon his ability to close up those bowling-ball-sized holes in his swing.
But I’m no Jay Yencich.
thehemogoblin - May 24, 2010
He's missed with 41% of his swings
Incredible.
Jeff Sullivan - May 24, 2010
I want to root for him but its hard to picture him turning into a MLB player
He is striking out 40% of the time this year and while he is walking more than in the past, its still not nearly enough to justify the strikeouts. That combined with a consistently underwhelming BABIP throughout his career makes it hard to figure out how he is going to progress. Whenever you need to say “He only needs to cut his K/PA by half to MAYBE be an ok MLB player” there is a major issue.
Edgar for Pres - May 24, 2010
Also, just for fun
58% of his PA result in one of the three true outcomes (HR, BB or K).
Edgar for Pres - May 24, 2010
This reminded me of Dallas McPherson
He has 12 K and 12 HR in 7 games with Oakland’s AAA team (and only 1 BB) this year.
Edgar for Pres - May 25, 2010
Whoops. Thats not right. I misread his stats. He has 12 RBIs and not 12 HR.
12 HR seemed crazy. Should have thought about it a second more.
Edgar for Pres - May 25, 2010
.347 wOBA so far this year. If he is even average in the field as a CF and translates that to the majors... quality player.
But he has to be able to swing and make contact on a major league breaking ball once in a while.
lailaihei - May 24, 2010
I don't really care what his wOBA is
With that contact, he’ll never make it. He makes contact like Chris Davis in the Majors, in AAA.
Jeff Sullivan - May 24, 2010
Never?
Goose - May 24, 2010
Sure if he does what Mark Reynolds did at the same age in the minors
31 HR, 25 doubles, 52 walks, .318/.401/.633 in 106 games split between two levels. (Though not AAA)
Kenneth Arthur - May 25, 2010
I still think he can be a fourth outfielder, or maybe a platoon bat in the outfield.
He can defend all the position in the OF well, he runs well, he throws well, and he does have tremendous power. His contact rates are terrible, but I would think at some point in his career, he’ll be able to put bat on ball well enough to be a fourth outfielder type.
Rudy4three - May 24, 2010
With above-average defense and prodigious power, what are the lowest acceptable rate stats to be above replacement level?
thehemogoblin - May 24, 2010
Aww, damn. I've got the Beavers game. Curse you, regional affiliations.
thehemogoblin - May 24, 2010
So LOLcatz are now permitted....
Decatur - May 24, 2010
No they're not
Jeff Sullivan - May 24, 2010

HititHere - May 25, 2010
Then subsequently laughed my ass off again
I am an asshole.
HititHere - May 25, 2010
Is that real?
Fin - May 24, 2010
You missed the shitstorm last year.
JY - May 24, 2010
Actually
I didn’t.
It’s weird looking back at something I posted last year and do not really remember posting.
Fin - May 24, 2010
Fin and I were at the game!
Decatur - May 25, 2010
Aw lame
Poochie - May 25, 2010
If Halman somehow translated his current BB/K to the bigs he would be right there with Lopez, this year and last.
Which is not horrible if he can go smashy smashy whenever he makes contact.
lailaihei - May 24, 2010
Seddon tongue!
Yeah!

marc w - May 24, 2010
Looks like Jeff Weaver.
Hopefulmsfan - May 24, 2010

Punkhazard - May 24, 2010
Amazing Sean White
Groundout, Walk, Strikeout, Balk, Pop-out (Hannahan defensive save).
ThundaPC - May 24, 2010
I think he had more swinging strikes in that inning than he did in the rest of 2010.
marc w - May 24, 2010
Rainiers win!
marc w - May 24, 2010
Garko looks alot like Mark Ruffalo in that pic.

The logo on his hat looks like smurf bacon.
I bet smurf bacon is very tasty. Probably leaves your tongue blue though.
PDXTai - May 25, 2010
Does he have a very small head?
Or a very large neck?
HititHere - May 25, 2010
Yes
