Baseball's back, baby! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Who's excited? You excited? Get excited. Get even more excited. Get unreasonably and uncomfortably excited! It's baseball time. Yeah!

Thu Jul 15, 19:05: Doug Fister vs. Joel Pineiro

Fri Jul 16, 19:05: Felix Hernandez vs. Jered Weaver

Sat Jul 17, 18:05:Ryan Rowland-Smith* vs. Joe Saunders*

Sun Jul 18, 12:35: Jason Vargas* vs. Ervin Santana

When I drafted this out last night, the Angels' starter tonight was unknown and I wrote a long and very funny paragraph on the starter being Not John Lackey that referenced the Lackey YouTube video. It was seriously hilarious, but you'll just have to trust me because now the probable pitchers has been updated. This whole paragraph is pretty unnecessary but since I can no longer use the paragraphs that I had written, this paragraph stands in memorial to those fallen and now useless words.

I wonder if the Angels tweaked their rotation so that Felix would be facing Jered Weaver. It feels like those two face each other frequently. Since the two teams play 19 or so games per year against each other and Weaver and Felix are each at the top of their team's rotations, it would not surprise if my feeling were correct. I don't like it when they pitch in the same game though. Or, more aptly, I do not like that Jered Weaver got legitimately good. Stop striking people out, Jered. Be more respectful and follow your elder brother's example.

I wonder if Doug Fister looks at Joel Pineiro and thinks "yeah, maybe I can get a $30 million contract with my stuff. Also, I look way studlier than he does."

Aww man no Kazmir?
I smell a sweep.
I think all the licking of squirrels may have compromised your sense of smell.
By the Angels.
I never said otherwise.
And the "second half" begins.

Basebol!

I read your opening paragraph with the keyboard riff of that "y'all ready for this" song in my head as I read

I AM PUMPED

Branyan and Kotchman both absent from the lineup tonight

And now begins the awkwardness…

They're at the Thunderdome.
Apparently Branyan cut his foot on a table.

Z’s gotten a lot of easy excuses, but pretty soon someone’s gotta go. Oh and to complicate matters, Sweeney may go out on rehab soon.

So you are saying that I look studly?
How the hell do we not have the worst offense and bullpen??

Who’s worse than us?

Without looking it up, I'm guessing Astros and Diamondbacks
I'd vote Pirates and Diamondbacks, myself.
Jose Lopez got braces over the All-Star Break

Adorableness rising!
