Graham MacAree - July 24, 2010

bestbostonsports - July 24, 2010
Please learn to capitalize, spell, and post comments people would want to read
Jeff Sullivan - July 24, 2010
Ok, I'm sorry again
All i was saying was that I wonder what happened to Chone Figgins. You guys, as Seattle fans, have watched him all year and I am curious to know what happned.
bestbostonsports - July 24, 2010
Ok, now do it without using the letter E.

Okay now do it without hitting post or writing anything
OlSalty - July 24, 2010
Here's a tip.
I went from commenting 40 times every thread and being despised to commenting 4-5 times a week and being tolerated. Try lurking for awhile to pick up the general commenting guidelines of the blog and THEN comment. It’ll do you some good. Honestly, right now you’re doing everything wrong. Reading the comment threads before beginning to actively participate in them is really, really helpful.
Thanks for joining this community, and thanks for taking my advice into consideration (hopefully), because it seems like you genuinely want to participate here and not cause problems.
.Taylor - July 24, 2010
OK, thanks
I have been kinda lurking, and mostly hanging in the OFFTOP threads, but I’ve ventured to the gamethreads and that’s been the problem.
I’m really not trying to cause issues
bestbostonsports - July 24, 2010
Here. They're bookmarked on the side of the site.
If I hadn’t read this and this, I’m sure I would’ve never been a competent commenter. Read em and follow em.
Read number one on the style guide over and over.
MT Olson - July 24, 2010
You know what this site needs.
Authors to write articles on this kind of thing. Even better. There needs to be a place to put these articles for easy access!
ThundaPC - July 24, 2010
Saunders has a .759 OPS now.
Promise!
Coach Owens - July 24, 2010
Bradley's kid was happy that his daddy made no baserunning mistakes!
ThundaPC - July 24, 2010
Milton is pure feelgood.
Eyeball Kid - July 24, 2010
I choose to be blindly hopeful when it comes to Saunders.
I can’t analyze a swing, but athlete + performance = drunken me smiling.

John Morgan - July 24, 2010
That's a cyclops with an orange in his mouth, by the way.
Good night.
John Morgan - July 24, 2010
Nah, I'm with you.
I’m a huge believer. He’s not going to be a superstar, but I have a hard time believing he won’t be an average to above-average MLB outfielder.
Teej - July 24, 2010
I don't see why he won't be able to become above average
He already has plus defense, so if he can become league average offensively (which he should easily be able to do) we have a good left fielder for the future.
wyte_lightning - July 24, 2010
Red Sox Nation?
More like Red Sox Gay-tion!
Decatur - July 24, 2010
Wherever did you come up with THAT?!
Coach Owens - July 24, 2010
A vision quest.
Decatur - July 24, 2010
I guess shrooms will do that for ya.
Coach Owens - July 24, 2010
Hannahan was in the M's minor league system for a reason.
Enjoy. He’s good defensively but he can’t hit.
grips - July 24, 2010
Jack Hannahan is a great man.
Decatur - July 24, 2010
what
Mariner John - July 25, 2010
Pretty sure that was a reply fail
wyte_lightning - July 25, 2010
This is the Best Season Ever (tm)
Dewey N - July 24, 2010
I missed tonight's affair. When this happens, I like to hit the box score and slowly
scroll down, revealing each hitters line one by one. As I go through I hope the nice big numbers in the hits, RBI, and BB columns are for players I like and not from the likes of players who have no future here. Tonight, as I went through our first four hitters and didn’t see much production I began to get excited that Smoak did the damage tonight. But that 0-4 made me shake me head.
So I kept going and I still wasn’t seeing too much production. I got passed Bradley and groaned that Josh Bard or Jack Wilson must’ve been the heroes. How boring. Surely our beloved Michael Saunders could not have had much success against the likes of a lefty like Lester.
But yes, it was Saunders! My final scroll down revealed he had multiple hits and RBI. But more importantly it showed runs scored. The final column of the trifecta indicating a possible homerun!
And yes, Saunders did homer. And he homered off an elite lefty, and this made me very happy.
So happy, I’m now going to click on the team site and watch the video over and over again!
Rudy4three - July 24, 2010
Smoak almost did massive damage in his last AB!
Warning track fly-out to JD Drew. Just a few feet away from a Grand Slam!
ThundaPC - July 24, 2010
Oh that would have been nice. At least it wasn't an empty 0-4. Sounds like he at least
squared one up pretty well.
Rudy4three - July 24, 2010
I wasn't watching gameday so I can't be sure, but it looked like he was robbed of a walk later in the game.
Crystal for DH - July 24, 2010
Hopefully Saunders having a good night against a good lefty will give him more opportunities the rest of the season.
Jeff Nye - July 24, 2010
He's started pretty much every game since he was called up where he wasn't injured.
I have a lot of complaints, but Saunders’ playing time isn’t one of them.
Decatur - July 24, 2010
Yeah, they started playing him against lefties before he got hurt. I think
he’s in the everyday lineup from here on out.
Rudy4three - July 24, 2010
Still, positive reinforcement helps.
Jeff Nye - July 24, 2010
It's so great to see him hitting Lester like this.
I came in very late to the game and couldn’t believe it.
ignacio - July 24, 2010
Somehow it is much more important to me that Saunders succeeds than Smoak succeeds.
Perhaps it is just a reflection of their relative name recognition amongst fangraphs commenters. Or just seeing one of the Mariners prospects pan out for the team.
stredarts - July 24, 2010
This is a great approach
I might try this the next time I miss a game. Here is a rec for you!
appleshampoo - July 25, 2010
Pauley finally gets some semblance of revenge against his former organization for trading him away for Randor Bierd
Gihyou - July 24, 2010
Randor Bierd is one of the best Viking names on record.
JY - July 24, 2010
I think we should all focus on what's important, here.
Unhappy Red Sox fans!

A question for Lookout Landing's many denizens...
I’ve got something a bit off topic, and if this isn’t the place to put it, I am sorry.
I’m going to be at next Friday’s Twins-Mariners game, in some rather excellent field club seats provided by my employer, of the sort that will probably get on the TV cameras multiple times a game, just because of their location.
My question, in order to show my love for the wonderful commenters at Lookout Landing:
If I bring a sign, what would you like me to put on it? I will take my favorite suggestion and/or have a small pool, and go with that.
Humorous, insane, largely incomprehensible references are a plus.
Patrick42 - July 24, 2010
Kenji has back spasms
Fett42 - July 24, 2010
Rob Johnson passed ball counter.
BrianL - July 24, 2010
This would reign supreme.
Wilder. - July 24, 2010
I'm thinking something akin to the Ichiro hit tracker would be perfect
wyte_lightning - July 24, 2010
So instead of the Ichimeter we'd have the Droppometer?
BrianL - July 24, 2010
Something like that..
I bet LL could put its hive mind together and come up with a sign name worthy of Rob’s suckititude.
wyte_lightning - July 24, 2010
I like the potential here.
Seems like a good idea to me. What’s his current passed ball count?
Patrick42 - July 25, 2010
I believe this is the winrar.
appleshampoo - July 25, 2010
Our center fielder is better and/or more attractive in a sexual way than yours
wyte_lightning - July 24, 2010
Too long.
Sorry! :)

BURN THE TREE
Teej - July 24, 2010
I don't even know what this means.
Teej - July 24, 2010
It was back when our fanshots were still bad but amusing in a stupid way.
BURN THE TREE
JY - July 24, 2010
That was an...interesting read.
the other side - July 24, 2010
Sure was!
So, whenever someone screams “burn the tree”, it usually means “break up the team” in a somewhat ironic way.
JY - July 24, 2010
I got about halfway throught that post and had to stop
Man that was a disaster.
wyte_lightning - July 24, 2010
I just spent about an hour reading through old threads.
First burn the tree, then all sorts of USSM and LL posts about the Seattle blog battle.
theNmarie - July 25, 2010
I kind of like this one.
Because it’s A) short, and B) too weird for anyone else to understand.
I could put a burning tree on the sign.
Patrick42 - July 25, 2010
I love sexy people.

CapSea - July 25, 2010
Well this game turned out a lot better than expected!
Lester was dominating us, 13 Strikeouts! It was nice to hear some noise at Safeco as well from the M’s fans. Started the day with Inception finished off the day at Safeco, amazing!
Slurvey - July 24, 2010
Woo got home from the game.
I did the beer garden, and it was pretty cool to high-five Brad Adam. Bill Krueger was kind of a douche though. Still was lots of fun and I was glad to see Pauly have a good outing and the M’s pull through here without any bullshit!
Fin - July 24, 2010
Bill Krueger, a douche? I'm utterly shocked.
Griffin Cooper - July 25, 2010
DID YOU GET CARDED LOL
appleshampoo - July 25, 2010
DEAD MEME.
Also no chatspeak, haha.
