Houston, Philadelphia… I don’t know all the stadiums, I don’t pay much attention to other teams. But it seems like his pull-hitting might do well, and a new environment might cure him of whatever laziness is real and not just perceived. Lots of players sparkle after a trade.
It's interesting in the exact same way that massive natural disasters are interesting.
They make for interesting storylines that follow the inexorable spread of tragedy and that highlight the ways in which that tragedy has forever changed peoples’ lives. Twilight fits in this bucket, I think.
They were interesting when I was 10 and obsessed with Pokemon
Now fads are on a scale between meh and fucking annoying. The show Lost or the World Cup are meh, while Twilight leans towards the fucking annoying side.
Well I am probably partial towards them since I worked for them
but if you want to go comparing a condiment to an event that happens once every four years, then go ahead but I don’t see the comparison.
Sorry if I pissed you guys off about speaking negatively about soccer in a blog who’s posters and writer(s) love soccer. But if I pissed anyone off about Twilight I am not sorry, Twilight sucks, get over it and listen to your Fall Out Boy.
We have the most awesome outfield in the league :)

Mmmmmmmm. Good imagery.
truemsfan - July 25, 2010
I wish Ichiro would stop being so selfish
Snuffleupagus - July 25, 2010
We are just the worst at being bad
But, hey, Condor!!
wyte_lightning - July 25, 2010
Saunders was even a trending topic on twitter!
Janic - July 25, 2010
Is that our Saunders or just Saunders?
Because, you know, Joe….
JY - July 25, 2010
Mostly Joe I would think.
But hey, our #Saunders probably contributed some too.
Janic - July 25, 2010
Kotchman got on-base four times today.
He’s doing a pretty good job of proving he’s not worthless. Good to see.
MT Olson - July 25, 2010
Especially with the trade deadline coming up
Allen Wu - July 25, 2010
TRADE ICHIRO
Seriously, though, trade Lopez
RunningFool - July 25, 2010
Some team with a short left field wall?

ignacio - July 25, 2010
What would we get out of him?
fluffylamps - July 25, 2010
Frogurt with our choice of toppings
bamfor - July 25, 2010
make it a peanut-butter cheesecake and you might have something there
TIFO - July 25, 2010
The correct response is, "That's good!"
JLC - July 25, 2010
Any topping you could get in a trade for Jose Lopez would cause cancer.
Jed MC - July 25, 2010
That's bad.
Decatur - July 25, 2010
If we trade him to Arizona, probably Justin Upton.
joof - July 25, 2010
If we throw in Vargas that might actually fly.
Also, Michael Saunders looks like Kurt Cobain.
Rollo Tomasi - July 25, 2010
No he doesn't.
qrsouther - July 26, 2010
He looks like Jake Locker stupid!
Cheddar28 - July 26, 2010
Lots of players sparkle after a trade from Seattle.
Fixed.
Fin - July 25, 2010
Is it because they're vampires?
I Lick Squirrels - July 25, 2010
Eclipse does feature a vampire army raised in Seattle.
So yes.
joof - July 25, 2010
God dammit can Twilight go along with religion, politics and fantasy baseball as banned topics?
No offense to you guys, I just really don’t like the whole vampire fad that has the teeny boppers going nuts.
Fin - July 25, 2010
Twilight is interesting
Jeff Sullivan - July 25, 2010
Also are politics and fantasy baseball!
Double06 - July 25, 2010
I'm on Team Seddon
CapSea - July 25, 2010
Team Milton.
The power to make everyone shiver when he smiles and break 34 ounce pieces of wood over his leg.
PShwa - July 26, 2010
Team Dracula
Because not one can match up to him, but I rather get out the garlic and slay all of them.
well you win some and lose others - July 26, 2010
He ain't called Big Game Bradley for nothing.
Fin - July 26, 2010
Jeff secretly wants a Twilight version of "WE COME AGAIN"
NWade - July 25, 2010
What part.
The Typical Idiot Fan - July 26, 2010
No it's not.
qrsouther - July 26, 2010
Fads that sweep the nation are interesting
Jeff Sullivan - July 26, 2010
You look great in those crocs!
pdb - July 26, 2010
So was the spread of the plague.
JY - July 26, 2010
I agree
Jeff Sullivan - July 26, 2010

Chris Hafner - July 26, 2010
Natural disasters don't make teenaged girls scream and swoon at red carpet events.
It would be awesome if they did though, all with big hand painted signs, “I <3 you Hurricane Andrew, have my babies!”
Hey, it worked for the Fertile Crescent.
JY - July 26, 2010
I'm on Team Tsunami, myself
pdb - July 26, 2010
The Tigris and Euphrates just need a better publicist
lemonverbena - July 26, 2010
The aliens in Independence Day had groupies, right?
Up until the point at which they were annihilated, but still – disaster groupies!
Chris Hafner - July 26, 2010
The groupies didn't know they were going to get blown up though.
I think that’s a necessary element in this whole scheme.
JY - July 26, 2010
They were interesting when I was 10 and obsessed with Pokemon
Now fads are on a scale between meh and fucking annoying. The show Lost or the World Cup are meh, while Twilight leans towards the fucking annoying side.
Fin - July 26, 2010
The world cup is not a fad
pdb - July 26, 2010
Sorry for ripping on the World Cup
That probably took it too far.
Fin - July 26, 2010
Jesus christ.
abender20 - July 26, 2010
wut
Robert - July 26, 2010
But bacon salt, which doesn't even taste like bacon, that is still good right?

My point is that the World Cup is not a fad.
Sec 108 - July 27, 2010
This is pure awful on so many levels.
Matthew - July 26, 2010
Oh man it's too bad you couldn't come hang out for EcLLipse this weekend then!
seattlebruin - July 26, 2010
Loafie to Boston makes a small amount of sense.
With Beltre and (most likely) Bill Hall gone after this season, Lopez wouldn’t be an altogether bad utility infielder or stopgap third baseman.
Wait, no, he would be a pretty bad utility infielder or stopgap third baseman wherever he goes.
ThomasG - July 26, 2010
It makes a small amount of sense if you consider that he plays baseball and the Red Sox are a baseball team.
abender20 - July 26, 2010
And then all that sense goes away when you realize the Red Sox would never in a million years trade for Lopez
pdb - July 26, 2010
They've traded for stranger things.
Kevin Cash, for one.
ThomasG - July 26, 2010
They acquired him because Varitek went on the DL
bamfor - July 26, 2010
Uh huh.
Despite having two players down in Pawtucket who can hit and play comparable defense to Cash.
ThomasG - July 26, 2010
I don't know the Red Sox organizational depth, or organization in general, so I'm really in no place to argue
But maybe it had something to do with Wakefield and a personal knuckleball catcher
bamfor - July 26, 2010
He played for the Sox before and I guess a few pitchers here really like his game-calling abilities.
Plus the whole Wakefield thing, too.
