that is an awesome graphic
yea, the Cell can get a bit homer happy on warm summer nights. I don’t blame you guys for hating it though, it’s hard to top Safeco, got my first game there on king felix night last month, just beautiful.
but i regress, good luck the rest of the way after the game tmr.
madvillian - July 28, 2010
I don't actually hate it
it’s just fairly extreme.
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
regress, digress, got stats on the mind.
madvillian - July 28, 2010
Please, allow me to flatulate.

What do you think about Forbes.com listed Randy Winn as one of the biggest trade deadline busts of all time?
http://www.forbes.com/2010/07/27/yankees-mariners-tigers-giants-business-sports-trade-deadline-bust_slide_4.html
The M’s got Yorbit Torrealba and Jesse Foppert in the deal. They didn’t do anything for the M’s. Randy Winn went to SF and hit 359/391/680 for a 1.071 OPS that year. How is he one of the biggest trade deadline busts? Forbes’ reason that Winn was a huge bust for the Giants is that he never drove in more than 65 runs a year as a corner OF, and the Giants never finished higher than the 3rd in NL West while Winn was there. But Randy Winn played great defense for the Giants. The Giants gave him a 24M/3 year contract after the 2005 season. Maybe his subsequent years didn’t live up to that contract, but he was awesome for them after the trade in 2003. I don’t know why Forbes.com listed Randy Winn was one of the biggest trade deadline busts in baseball.

This is 100% related to the baseball game the Mariners just played
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
Waaiiiit a second
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
Apparently, not too many people cared about the baseball game the M's just played. What's another loss? Nobody really cares that they lost another game.
brian_sun - July 28, 2010
Strangely enough, this sort of off-topic stuff is what the off-topic threads are for.
Eyeball Kid - July 28, 2010
You know the rules
Or if you don’t, you should learn them.
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
Sorry about that. It will go to the off topic board next time.
brian_sun - July 28, 2010
Could also post a fanshot
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
ew!!
Dewey N - July 28, 2010
Apologies if this has already been brought up...
but did anyone else see that the Giants called on Aardsma and we countered with DA and Jose Lopez for Kung Fu Panda… needless to say we were rejected.

Please post this either as a fanshot, a fanpost, or in the off-topic thread
Thanks!

...and done
Sorry Jeff, I realized after I posted that this probably wasn’t the place for this.
aj_korth - July 28, 2010
No worries, just making you aware
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
For some reason I want Eric Byrnes back.
He was pretty cool. I liked his hair. I wonder how his softball league is doing. I wonder if I can watch that on mlbtv instead of the mariners…
Woody! - July 28, 2010
My god are all these off topic posts done on purpose now?
Fin - July 28, 2010
Awww shucks
Someone already called me on it. Sorry about that…
Woody! - July 28, 2010
And after reading Jeff's last two posts,
I’m becoming painfully aware that my thought there has little to do with the game. Other than I bet Byrnes’ softball fences are further out then the ones at Comiskey Park… or whatever they call it these days.
Woody! - July 28, 2010
I actually thought we were gonna win at one point in this game.
How stupid of me.
Allen Wu - July 28, 2010
Our odds of winning exceeded 80%!
Mariners!
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
By the way, I have zero thoughts about the game
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
Except holy crap Chone I'm so proud of you
Jeff Sullivan - July 28, 2010
I loved that Ichiro appeared genuinely thrilled and happy for Chone.
BrianL - July 28, 2010
Yeah just watched the highlight on mlb.com, did the team ignore Figgins when he went back to the dugout? [obviously in a rookie hazing style not maliciously!]
EnglishMariner - July 29, 2010
Branyan had the best reaction/non-reaction
Drew_D - July 29, 2010
I love how Chone awkwardly grabs Branyan's lower back/ass on his way back to the dugout.
Just like Napgate, I feel like we’ll never get the whole story on the beef that went down and is still ongoing apparently. It’s hard to really give a shit though.

These threads are starting become reminscent of June 2008

Can someone please explain the graphic of U.S. Cellular.
Is that the number of homers hit this year? The percentage above average of number of homeruns hit there? Sorry I need the explanation but the way it is charted it seams like CF plays average, the gaps play slightly below, and down the lines yields a healthy ten percent below average homeruns. As I said sorry for the need for an explanation but I would greatly appreciate it.
Jack Swan - July 29, 2010
I believe that those are supposed to be the dimensions
Aaron Campeau - July 29, 2010
Light bulb appears over head.
Thanks.
Jack Swan - July 29, 2010
Yay, Mariners!
