More proof that Yuni is a Mariner-killer.
yuniform - July 5, 2010
Baltimore is so much worse than us
BRKLN M'S - July 5, 2010
At least this year we will finish behind Washington.
Damn you Riggleman!
Hopefulmsfan - July 6, 2010
Crap
Jeff Sullivan - July 5, 2010
Cliff :(.
Fin - July 5, 2010
On the plus side...
I think we’re so bad that all the idiots who were waiting to point to this team failing as a sign that statistical analysis and a defensive mindset don’t work simply forgot about us. We’re that bad.
SethGrandpa - July 5, 2010
Go see Geoff Baker's Blog
It ain’t pretty
beastwarking - July 5, 2010
I'll pass.
Mariner John - July 5, 2010
crazy...
the Mariners are bad… but still suck at being bad, since there are so many other teams that are being bad a lot better than the Mariners. They’ll still get hosed in the draft next year. The Mariners seem to be pretty good at picking bad years to be good and bad years to be bad.
Upside: They can go wild in free agency without giving up their pick. Maybe they can even sign the best available pitcher… ohhhhhh….
jameslcrockett - July 5, 2010
Yeah it sucks we got Ackley and did well in 2001.
It always sucks to be bad and being good is always better than being bad. We haven’t really been good since 2003.
Mariner John - July 5, 2010
I don't know about you guys.
But I can’t get enough of talking about draft picks!
ThundaPC - July 5, 2010
Not much else to talk about this year...
At least the mariners have a gm you can reasonably expect to make something out of draft picks and salary dumps.
Let’s see… can’t talk about division titles, can’t even come close to talking about wild cards, can’t even be nostalgic about past post-season success, and the games sure as heck don’t matter at this point. All that’s left is draft position, trading whoever they can get for whatever they can get and looking towards next year.
jameslcrockett - July 6, 2010
.
Oh so many people beg to differ.
Fuckmikereilly - July 6, 2010
i'm sure...
doesn’t make them right.
jameslcrockett - July 6, 2010
I would say going to the ALCS 3 times in a span of 6 years is success.
Yeah it’s disappointing that we didn’t get farther when we had the teams we did but winning the first series 3 times, especially against that 95 Yankees team, is something to be nostalgic for. Plus since most of this team will still be here next year, we should root for it to win and for individual players to show us improvement.
Hopefulmsfan - July 6, 2010
Don't be a troll.
Matthew - July 6, 2010
Fucking Yuni, go live up in the mountains and stop bothering everyone.
sanford_and_son - July 5, 2010
Think of the Sasquatch, man
OceanBird - July 6, 2010
Hasn't he been messed with enough?
Jeff Nye - July 6, 2010
Doesn't Sasquatch just mean "wood ape"?
Probably Yuni’s missing link. Have THAT on your conscience.
The Typical Idiot Fan - July 6, 2010
Games like this take all the good feelings I had left from the Yankee series.
And just rip them apart. Why don’t the Royals care about my feelings?
Hopefulmsfan - July 6, 2010
I hate it when the bullpen can't give Felix a W
when he leaves after 7 with a 2-run lead. And I was beginning to have a good feeling about Brandon League.
The injuries to Mark Lowe and Shawn Kelley have really hurt the team.
ignacio - July 6, 2010
It's amazing how quickly our bullpen went from being a strength to a weakness.
The injuries in addition to the massive regression of Aardsma and the inconsistencies of League means whenever a starting pitcher doesn’t go a complete game anymore, I get nervous.
Hopefulmsfan - July 6, 2010
Brian Sweeney!
joey90 - July 6, 2010
I hate to be a downer...
But this is exactly the type of mercurial production League gave Toronto during his stint there. Morrow sure would look nice in our 2011 rotation at this point, too. Who knows what the deal will look like in three years once both players are free agents, but right now, it sure does appear as if Toronto pulled one over on our front office. League has never had the mettle of a late-inning reliever. Toronto knew it and Seattle’s front office didn’t.
Bodhizefa - July 6, 2010
Fuck Morrow we got Pineda!
Bearskin Rugburn - July 6, 2010
Like Jeff has pointed out.
League is great when he uses his splitter. He just doesn’t use it because, well, saving it and all that.
Hopefulmsfan - July 6, 2010
At least it is gorgeous weather here in the PNW
And is there anything to appreciate in losing with 4 runs as opposed to losing with 1 or 0? Anything? Probably not, but trying to muster some happiness.
