Another tandem start time with Seattle and Tacoma gives us the opportunity to follow along as Mauricio Robles makes his Triple-A debut. Robles had 130 strikeouts in 126 innings with West Tenn's starting rotation. He has a bit of a control issue, but hey Jarrod Washburn has an unemployment issue.
I don't know if this is on TV, but you can listen in here or follow on Gameday here

I'm pretty excited about Robles.

Good start
Matthew - August 15, 2010
1 IP, 2 Ks
15 pitches 12 strikes
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Stormton - August 15, 2010
30 pitches, 23 strikes.
Went to a three ball count on the last batter. Three Ks.
JY - August 15, 2010
3 groundouts, no flyouts
We got useful prospects for Washburn and Yuni. Not just fringey useful guys either, guys with the potential to be good.
I love Z.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
Pencil him into the April '11 rotation after Pineda.
lailaihei - August 15, 2010
No no no
Matthew - August 15, 2010
I'm hoping this was a joke.
Guy has still got some serious control issues.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
They've gotten better.
But a good month of July shouldn’t seal his spot in the Mariners rotation for April.
JY - August 15, 2010
Robles is only 21.
He still has tons of time left.
dba - August 15, 2010
Indeed
And his walk rates aren’t awful for the amount of strikeouts he gets. He definitely just needs some time in AAA to try and figure it out. Probably for most of next year.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
Three-fifths of the Tacoma rotation is only 21.
JY - August 15, 2010
Only one of them should probably be there, but Robles looks okay at the moment.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
How old is the entire rotation, if you don't might answering, Jay?
Kirk - August 15, 2010
35, duh.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
Including Hyphen right now, 117, probably closer to 119 if you want to get technical about it.
JY - August 15, 2010
This is an awesome answer.
Kirk - August 15, 2010
21 x 3, F-bend 24, RRS 27 = 113.
Tacoma_Mike - August 15, 2010
errrr.... 114
Tacoma_Mike - August 15, 2010
Feierebend is still alive?
Kirk - August 15, 2010
Wait hold on...
I think we’re thinking of it differently, because I had Baldwin in there and you had Feierabend and both were in the rotation as of recently.
It may be possible that they’ve gone to a six-man in an attempt to keep everyone’s innings down, in which case the answer would be 141ish.
JY - August 15, 2010
But then Hyphen's probably going to be out soon, so it's probably short lived.
JY - August 15, 2010
Or Baldwin could just move out.
JY - August 15, 2010
But then the Darren Bragg trade line would die!
Fuckmikereilly - August 16, 2010
Yeah that was a joke.
lailaihei - August 15, 2010
Is Winfree Major League potential? He has the highest batting average, but I haven't heard of him before.
joey90 - August 15, 2010
He's some guy around his physical prime who signed as a minor league FA earlier in the year.
JY - August 15, 2010
Without much hope of joining our team anyways with Saunders, Guti, and Ichiro locked up.
joey90 - August 15, 2010
People usually get excited about Mike Wilson and then realise this.
JY - August 15, 2010
Is this before or after they realize that Mike Wilson isn't very good?
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
Most people don't realise Mike Wilson isn't very good.
but hey, he’s in his physical prime, and despite minor defensive shortcomings, he can hit longballs and walk a bit. Someone will probably want him. I don’t care so long as he stops being my problem.
JY - August 15, 2010
Kablooey.
ThundaPC - August 15, 2010
And what was a good debut is suddenly a crappy debut.
Fuckmikereilly - August 15, 2010
Dave jinxed it.
JY - August 15, 2010
I do it sometimes too, but man twitter hashtags are becoming inane.
Matthew - August 15, 2010
One of the reasons I don't want to jump on the Twitter wagon is the expectation of having to use them.
A lot of the time, they’re relevant. I see the BA guys always hashtag the teams involved and that’s swell.
Using a vague one, or one that probably will only be used once? Bleh.
JY - August 15, 2010
I seldom ever hashtag anything. You can use Twitter without them.
thehemogoblin - August 15, 2010
I'm just making up excuses.
I don’t want to use Twitter anyway.
JY - August 15, 2010
Good for you Jay.
Anything anyone has to say that is worth saying, is worth saying in more then six words. That’s what I’m saying.
Adam B - August 15, 2010
This Miller Lite love/like advert is fucking awful.
Eyeball Kid - August 15, 2010
Pineda's upcoming starts
Does anyone know when Pineda is penciled in? I’d love to make it down to Tacoma to watch him before he gets shut down for the year…
SeaBlazeMariNuck - August 15, 2010
Tomorrow.
JY - August 15, 2010
Rally whatever time?
dba - August 15, 2010
Tie game
dba - August 15, 2010
Aww..yea, tied up.
ThundaPC - August 15, 2010
Back to back dingers!
dba - August 15, 2010
Boom! Ball game.
ThundaPC - August 15, 2010
Carp!
kennerdoloman - August 15, 2010
The Rainiers are more exciting than the Mariners.
