I’m already bad at telling how hard a ball was hit coming off the bat. It’s an intuitive skill that I assume improves with massive quantity of baseball viewing. This messes with that. But it’s still awesome.
More so than the grammar… strict police… or… the grammar…. man it was on the tip of my tongue. I’m thinking of like an authoritarian regime or something.
This is a subtle insult, right?
appleshampoo - August 18, 2010
Only if it's so subtle that I don't even get it
Jeff Sullivan - August 18, 2010
You motherfucker
Dewey N - August 19, 2010
What a star
Bicycle Rider - August 18, 2010
That's some Bugs Bunny stuff goin' on there
ermac - August 18, 2010
This is like that Ichiro Commercial where he hits the ball to right field and fields it himself.
joof - August 18, 2010
He monstered that ball though
credit where credit’s due.
aussie_chop - August 18, 2010
A shame that that ungainly left fielder made a diving catch on it
JLC - August 18, 2010
See?!
Someone else thought the same thing!
appleshampoo - August 18, 2010 via mobile
Tripping Catch, maybe?
Reminds me of kids I played little league with who would dog it to the ball just so the could make a diving stop.
HitKing69 - August 18, 2010
I wasn't insulting him
You guys are mean
Jeff Sullivan - August 18, 2010
This is hilarious
Allen Wu - August 18, 2010
This is surreal. It's such a deep metaphor.
Tamuzi - August 18, 2010
The same guy playing Tui positions.
wazzu93 - August 18, 2010
Saunders/Tui platoon?
Edgar for Pres - August 18, 2010
FUCK YOU
Decatur - August 19, 2010
Step off
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
Wasn't serious. *Hugs*?
Decatur - August 19, 2010
Reminds me of Edmonds
“If I run a step slower I might be able to make a diving catch…”
Schuxu - August 18, 2010
I need to know, was that real?
Is there evidence Edmonds really did that or is it solely a joke about his range/reputation.
_David_ - August 19, 2010
All that's missing is Mr. Perfect's theme music playing in the background.
ThundaPC - August 18, 2010
Matt Tui obviously isn't that fast....
But that’s not supposed to be his strength.
Who would you rather have out there? Russ Davis?
Give him a chance. I totally wouldn’t mind seeing Figgy shipped off to Atlanta, Ackley in at 2nd and see what Tui can do at 3rd in ’11.
egreenlaw9 - August 18, 2010
Tui sucks at 3rd.
slamcactus - August 19, 2010
Seeing as Russ Davis retired years ago I am confused by this comment.
Sec 108 - August 19, 2010
This makes my brain hurt
I’m already bad at telling how hard a ball was hit coming off the bat. It’s an intuitive skill that I assume improves with massive quantity of baseball viewing. This messes with that. But it’s still awesome.
_David_ - August 19, 2010
It's like Raul's footspeed in LF all over again!
EnglishMariner - August 19, 2010
Jeff, isn't this kind of an oxymoron?
“for HERE, THERE be .gif(s).
I think you were looking for their. Sorry to be the nazi police, just thought the irony was funny.
C-Nage - August 19, 2010
Either I've become a grammatical ignoramus since leaving school or this is gibberish.
Eyeball Kid - August 19, 2010
Like a bat on a hot tar moof.
abender20 - August 19, 2010
Which part, the oxymoron or the irony?
C-Nage - August 19, 2010
Here a .gif
There a .gif
Everywhere a .gif .gif.
Two Rs and Two Ls - August 19, 2010
Fortunately, the vast majority of people know that the Nazis were wrong.
abender20 - August 19, 2010
Only when it came to race relations
Poochie - August 19, 2010
We can now add grammar to the list.
abender20 - August 19, 2010
The "Nazi Police" are harsh.
More so than the grammar… strict police… or… the grammar…. man it was on the tip of my tongue. I’m thinking of like an authoritarian regime or something.
SeattExPat - August 19, 2010
Some people have a way with words
and some people….not have way, I guess.
- Steve Martin
pdb - August 19, 2010
The irony is that he was right and you're wrong
some Nazi you’d make.
pdb - August 19, 2010
That sounds remarkably similar to the real Nazis
chaney - August 19, 2010
I think the correct usage is "Thar"
OlSalty - August 19, 2010
He said he was a grammar Nazi, not a grammar pirate
pdb - August 19, 2010
But he didn't! He said "sorry to be the nazi police."
SeattExPat - August 19, 2010
I don't know why he's apologising
we’re in dire need of a SS.
Eyeball Kid - August 19, 2010
Wait, so where do I apply?
Your right we totally NEED MORE self imposed grammar nazi’s, for lack of another word.
C-Nage - August 19, 2010
Wow you're right
now I’m wondering what the nazi police are all about. Are they nazis that do police work? Or are they police that only police nazis? I’m so confused.
pdb - August 19, 2010
I think they are trying to kill all the police.
Sec 108 - August 19, 2010
Is that what the N in NWA stands for?
abender20 - August 19, 2010
If it does Eazy E is rolling over in his grave.
Sec 108 - August 19, 2010
But I didn't not not say I was a grammar policeman.
C-Nage - August 19, 2010
Grammar Prospector?
joof - August 19, 2010
That catch was the number 6 play of the day on Sportscenter.
Mariners!
sanford_and_son - August 19, 2010
