Hey there. Remember this announcement? Of course you do. You're no moron. Safeco Field, batting practice, chatting, t-shirt, maybe a fleece - lots of cool stuff, for the low low price of eight pounds of Black Forest gummy bears. With prices that low, you can't afford not to attend!
But anyway, in case you needed some additional push to get out the door and spend part of your holiday weekend with other people who are willing to spend part of their holiday weekend with you, we have since been able to confirm that Jack Zduriencik will be one of the front office guests. There is a remote possibility that something could come up that will take him away, since his responsibilities to us do not yet supersede his responsibilities to the organization, but as of now, you can plan on Jack being there, fielding all the Brandon Morrow questions you can ask him. If we surround him and threaten not to let him by, we might even be able to get him to say some nasty things about current and former players!*
Attend. I know it's a holiday weekend. I know it overlaps with Bumbershoot. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros aren't going away any time soon, and Bob Dylan's only 69 years old. He has plenty of living yet to do.
* please do not surround and threaten our general manager

And if you're that worried about missing Bumbershoot
remember that MusicFest NW is the following weekend. Problem solved.

SO EXPENSIVE
:(
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
BUT SO AWESOME
pdb - August 19, 2010
Incidentally, I will never, ever get over Garagefest. Amazing shows. Free. Amazing free shows.
marc w - August 19, 2010
I keep hoping they'll do it again but I'm skeptical
pdb - August 19, 2010
Wait, what? Is it?
How much? Is it more than Bumbershoot these days?
I’ve only ever been to one or two shows for MFNW, and it cost me like $10. I didn’t get a wristband or whatever else they’re ripping off from SXSW. Are wristbands a requirement for any show now?
marc w - August 19, 2010
$65 for a general wristband, $90 for an all-show wristband
Individual shows, of course, are more reasonable.
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
So, no, wristbands are not a requirement
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
It was $40 a day if you bought your tickets early I believe
Poochie - August 19, 2010
Shoot
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
Bumber
kentroyals5 - August 19, 2010
You better go you poosy
Dewey N - August 19, 2010
But will Patton Oswalt be at MusicFest NW?
kentroyals5 - August 19, 2010
Goddammit Jeff
Now I want eight pounds of Black Forrest Gummy Bears
c_dowley - August 19, 2010
Argh stupid Europe trip
Next year I’ll make it. Ask Z if he’s seen the sign.
wyte_lightning - August 19, 2010 via mobile
Yeah it must suck to travel the world instead of going to a baseball game and conversation
pdb - August 19, 2010
Oh I don't know
Robert - August 19, 2010
I think Jack could take most of us.
msb - August 19, 2010
Don't forget PAX.
That’s another important thing it overlaps with.
katal - August 19, 2010
Ehhh.
I liked PAX the first couple of years. Didn’t go last year and didn’t really miss going that much, either.
c_dowley - August 19, 2010
The best content is walking the exhibition hall
which can be done in a day. So buy a single day ticket for whichever day has the panel/event/concert you’re interested in seeing, and do something else the other two days.
Unless you’re jonesing to play in the all day Settler’s Tournament or something. Then you might need two.
Drew_D - August 19, 2010
Go to PAX and you may run into Ms. Jeff!
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
Is that her activity for the day while you play baseball geek?
Jeff Nye - August 19, 2010
She enjoys the baseball events for about 20 minutes
This year I have granted her her freedom
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
Someone needs to ask Jack if the FO is homophobic.
I’d also like him to report on why the Mariners didn’t sign Kelly Johnson, Jim Thome and Colby Lewis.
katal - August 19, 2010
Don't forget Branyan!
Jeff Nye - August 19, 2010
With how big these gatherings are getting, if Jack Zduriencik can't show up, you might look into hiring an impersonator.
Janic - August 19, 2010
Another option is to simply turn it into one giant in person beer thread
JAH - August 19, 2010
If we were to want to buy Matthew and Jeff a beer will there be an opportunity?
Robert - August 19, 2010
Yes
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
Since it's been a while the last pLLedge drive this seems like it would be the perfect opportunity to show our thanks.
Robert - August 19, 2010
This could lead to even more hilarity!
msb - August 19, 2010
Woo-hoo payday weekend!
seattle_since_81 - August 19, 2010
Will you be refunding my money if I am not satisfied?
Goose - August 19, 2010
Where can I buy tickets to this fine event?
jackyz - August 19, 2010 via mobile
Click on the link at the top of the post
Jeff Sullivan - August 19, 2010
I'm actually curious how this will work up in the stands
Like, how will everybody hear what’s going on? And where will the guests of honor be sitting? Will they be in the stands also or will all the hosting parties be hiding in a suite somewhere with the talk projected onto the video screen?
tootthekazoo - August 19, 2010
You got to keep the regular people away from the animals at the zoo.
seattle_since_81 - August 19, 2010
I trust all mods, both current and recent, receive free entry and get to sit in the front?
katal - August 19, 2010
I fail to see why this wouldn't be the case
Robert - August 20, 2010
