Exploratory Surgery

Shawn Kelley had exploratory surgery on his elbow today and, according to Kirby Arnold, wound up having a "partial Tommy John" procedure done. I don't know what that means, but Arnold says it's good news and Kelley will miss less time than he would've had he undergone the whole thing, so, there you go.

For those of you who are curious, this is exploratory surgery:

This is not exploratory surgery:

god that was so many bad Mariner teams ago…

Someone's getting punchy . . .
Partial Tommy John?

They use the ligament from a half-dead person?

I think it means they take out the ligament and don't replace it.
Works for R.A Dickey.
And people ask me why I visit this site so damn much...
Very "Pictures For Sad Children".

I approve.

Patrial Tommy John is

according to what I heard last night when one end of the ligament is frayed. They do not replace it, just repair that one end.
